Editorial Review for Primehouse David Burke – by Robyn Galbos

The Scene
A steakhouse for the new millennium, this polished restaurant combines old-school elements with a decidedly modern slant. From the wood-paneled entrance, a floor-to-ceiling, glass-enclosed wine case bends toward the dining room, revealing a warmly lit space outfitted with leather chairs, U-shaped booths and tables topped with custom red covers. The attractive crowd--a mix of young business types and on-the-town groups--creates a conversation-friendly buzz. Service is attentive and affable.

The Food

Contemporary interpretations of traditional classics feature Prime beef handpicked from Creekstone Farms in Kentucky. Stellar starters include melt-in-the-mouth Kobe beef sashimi served on a block of Himalayan salt, and bite-sized Surf and Turf Dumplings stuffed with lobster and foie gras/oxtail. Main courses include fork-tender Black Angus oxtail pot roast that falls off the bone. Golden crackling skin adds crispy texture to the pork shank served with chile pepper-laced applesauce. For dessert, cheesecake lollipops arranged to resemble a tree are a whimsical ending.

My husband & I went here for dinner on my bday. They have a great wine list. The scene is trendy & busy. The service was excellent, the GM even came by to make sure everything was perfect for us. Everything was great especially the 85 day aged ribeye, it was out of this world! They my made my bday perfect! The chocolate cake & ice cream added a very nice touch. We'll be back.

I had the pleasure to dine at Prime last night, and would recommend it to anyone. I had the Reserve Cut, 40-day Dry Aged, Bone-In Ribeye, MR, and it was fantastic. Additionally, we had the Shellfish Castle, the Kobe Beef Sashimi on a huge block of Himalayan salt, and some other things that were just as good. The wine was a Claret by Foley, '05, which went great with the pre-steak food. Service was great with minimal interruptions allowing for business conversation.
