The smoked chicken and apple club is. Most people come to the Bongo Room for brunch and breakfast - their decadent pancakes and butter-filled sauces will put you in a happy food coma. I go for lunch - the smoked chicken and apple club with sprouts and shallot butter is the best sandwich on the menu.

You can't argue with the cult following that surrounds the fancy-pants flapjacks here. Bonus for this location: You stand a chance of waiting less than an hour for your table!
FOOD QUALITY HAS GONE DOWN WHILE PRICES HAVE INCREASED. I have never done this before but I feel like I must. Last Saturday, my boyfriend and I went to our once-beloved Bongo Room, braved the half hour wait (standing the entire time) just to learn that the quality of the food had seriously diminished while the prices had gone up. We both ordered Eggs Benedict and when our food arrived, the plates were 75% potatoes and 25% eggs benedict with the cheapest tasting hollandaise sauce and thin ham steaks you've ever seen- the kind you can pick up at Jewel and use in a sandwich. The gigantic mounds of hash browns were bland... It's a shame that once a place has some sort of notoriety, they feel confident enough to lower food standards and raise the prices. We will never go back there again.
Icre cream for breakfast!. I had brunch here with some people from work after a terrible week and it was just what we needed -- huge portions, innovative menu options, delicious coffee. The mango/strawberry french toast comes with a scoop of ice cream on it! The breakfast burrito looked delicious, and I would have loved to have tried the veggie breakfast sandwich. You should definitely check this place out!
BREAKFAST PLACE. so i don't really know why this place is listed under "bar/club." CITYSEARCH, get your s*&^ together. Been there twice, and it's certainly a breakfast/brunch place. Anyway, citysearch errors aside, has one of the best brunch menus around, and changes seasonally. gourmet menu options. very small cramped space, however, and be prepared for a long wait.
