If you have kids, come from 4:30 -6 p.m. when they can eat free, and eat well. If you don't, come after 6 p.m. Maybe 6:30 to be safe.

Don't Miss the Proscuitto Pizza. This Roscoe Village pizzeria rivals Spacca Napoli in Ravenswood for Neapolitan-style pizzas. My absolute favorite is the proscuitto pizza, with arugula, fresh mozzarella and fresh proscuitto covering the entire pie. Although $15 for a pizza seems a bit steep, every Wednesday they are two-for-one. The cheese fondue appetizer is also delish.

Great!. I go to Frasca several times a month and am never disappointed-- the wait staff is always good, the wine list is fantastic (great range, reasonable prices), and the food is great. I especially love the bruschettas (pistachio...apple and brie...) and the olive oil flights. Definitely worth a visit.

What a joke. 01. terrible ACOUSTICS (all caps because you have to scream to hear yourself)

02. mediocre service (it's supposed to be a "wine bar" but the waitress couldn't open our bottle and they don't serve the overpriced bottle with goblets, they only have cheap stemware)

03. the bruscetta is served on what basically amounts to wonder bread, yes, wonder bread

04. pizza is no better than california pizza kitchen (just go to CPK, it's not pretentious and you get free refills)

05. smoking. we didn't get an option when we went in, assumed it was all non smoking but at 10pm you can light-up at the bar regardless of the other patrons around you. bad, bad decision.

06. there is clearly a reason why no restaurant can survive in that location, it's cursed with the stupids.

Limited menu leaves you wanting more. This new wood fired pizza/wine joint is right near my house. I've been in several times and both times have left wanting more. If you just want an expensive pizza it's fine, a decent salad, or bruschetta this place is fine, but personally I can never seem to find anything on the menu that really inspires me. The wine flights are nice and the ambience is great, particularly with the windows open on a nice day, but this place just seems to miss the mark in terms of food which is what it's all about.

flavorless eye candy. My first clue should have been the fact it was half empty on a friday at 5pm. It's a beautiful location for sure, great wine bar, great atmosphere, but the food was the most uninspired and unimpressive I've had to date here in Chicago. These guys are going to have to step it up if they want to survive in the neighborhood, particularly since there's another woodfired joint a half mile west on Roscoe.

Editorial Review. Wood-fired pizzas, steaks and Italian-inspired entrees make up the menu at this Roscoe Village pizzeria and wine bar.
