Tips for Mangia Roma Pizzeria & Trattoria

Lincoln Park pizzeria satisfies a jones for Roman-style pies before or after the theater.. In Short
This shotgun storefront enjoys a plum location next to the Steppenwolf Theatre and Clybourn shopping district--sans the traffic. This is the locals' pizzeria, quiet and unassuming, firing up crispy, hand-tossed pies. Exposed brick, high ceilings and wooden tables evoke classic Chicago charm, an ideal setting for an informal pre-show meal or post-shopping sustenance. Appetizers don't stray from staples like bruschetta, fried calamari and arancini, a breaded, cheese-filled rice ball fried to a golden brown. Pizzas--thin crust, deep dish, Roman crust or New York style--come topped with your choice of traditional meat and veggie ingredients.

Great Arancini and entrees have that fresh, home made feel. This restaurant has great pizza, but there are other items on their menu that are very good. Their Arancini appetizer is one of the best around. Their entrees (espec Fettuddin3 alla Bolognese) and sandwiches are way above average. We have been in their restaurant 6 times in the last 12 months. The food is consistently good, the service friendly and the prices in these tough times are reasonable.

Yum, Yum, Yum!!!!. I have recently awarded Mangia Roma as my favorite pizza place in the city. I was a Pequod's/Piece girl before this little restaurant came in and stole my pizza-lovin' heart. Now, I'm a die-hard Roma-fan. The thin crust Hawaiian is pretty amazing, I must say, but what's even MORE amazing is that the pizza tastes even BETTER when delivered! You MUST give it a try!

Best Pizza and authenic Italian cuisine for a small cost!. This is a great place to go before the theatre or after shopping. I live in the area and get take out frequently. I love the NY style pizza and the great pasta dishes. If you have not tried it yet...I highly recommend it! It is very great on price and is truely a great place!
