Citysearch Chicago. More often than not, Loop office workers head to this popular bar and grill for lunch or post-work cocktails. Its location can’t be beat--several buses stop literally in front of the door and the El is not even a block away. Default status means a line at the host stand during lunch, but service is speedy and the menu is a straightforward agenda of burgers, salads and sandwiches. Appropriately named for the meeting between lawyers and judges, the spots borrows courthouse elements with its dark woods, leather booths and high ceilings. However, the mood is far less somber. Guests will always find suits knocking a few back at the bar, a crowd that multiplies by nightfall.

Best Burger Ever. Period.. I have worked near Sidebar for the past three years and have been there way too many times to count. The food is ALWAYS consistently great. I am a big fan of the Burger and Fries but will sometimes get the crispy chicken salad. I really can't say enough about the place. This is one of only a handful of restaurants that I frequent here in chicago. The only drawback is that they are usually slammed from 11:45 on so if I am running late they are usually on a wait. But I don't consider that a huge draw back as everyone in the area seems to be a big fan. Besides, that they try to turn the tables as fast as they can and you can tell everyone is working hard and not just standing around. Plus the food is fresh but it always comes out super fast I am a huge fan of this place if you can't tell :) If you are in the area on a weekday for lunch, do yourself a favor and drop in, it is definitely worth your time (and wait, if there is one).

Good place for a business lunch in the loop. Consistent performer. I work around the corner, and end up eating at Sidebar probably once every 10 days. The chicken tortilla soup is delicious. The salads are very good. For an entree, I have had everything from a French Dip sandwich, Fish Tacos(sounds crazy but very tasty), and all were good.

Other part I like is that even though it is frequently packed, the service is top notch and the place knows how to get you in and out without much fuss.

Only negative, like pretty much every other restaurant in the loop, if you come right at noon, there is a line out the door. So, leave a little early...it's worth it.

Great southwest beef salad! I did not receive the level of customer service I expected.. Although I did not dine-in, during the brief time spent waiting on my food, the customer service was a bit unpleasant. Overall, I felt ignored. If you order the southwest beef salad, make sure to specify how you like your beef cooked. I will go back to see if they can reverse my first impression of their customer service.

Great drinks - plenty of privacy for an after-work spot. I love this place - great location in the loop and always a friendly server at the door. Drinks are reasonably priced and they have special things on the menu only avail for happy hour - I highly recommend the tenderloin salad - not what you're expecting but sure to love it!

Stylish downtown restaurant/bar offers lunch, dinner, cocktails for work crowd just outside the Loop.. In Short
Named after a courtroom meeting between judges and attorneys, this spot takes advantage of its proximity to several major area law firms and downtown businesses. Wood furnishings are coupled with several televisions (including two large flat-screens behind the bar), keeping customers comfortable and current with day's events. The menu includes burgers, quesadillas and spinach dip, as well as more exotic fare like a Thai beef salad, lamb chop and aged N.Y. strip steak.
