This New-York based men's and women's clothing chain brings its urban chic styles to Bucktown with a 10,000-square-foot showroom featuring tops, jeans, skirts, jackets, shoes and accessories. The label-conscious find no shortage of trendy labels here, with denim in all cuts and washes by Citizens of Humanity, evening gowns by Vera Wang, men's tees by John Varvatos and even Jimmy Choo and Marc Jacobs purses. A lot of really nice items under one roof, and might be well worth it, but the stuff is expensive. I noticed that they weren't overcharging for certain mainstream items, like Puma shoes, but were really marking up other more obscure items, like clothing by Z-brand, a diesel-esque brand from California. Granted, there are some things here that you probably won't find elsewhere, but for most purposes this place prices itself out of most people's range. Some people like to be noticed for how expensive their clothing is, but the joke's on them when you can find the same stuff elsewhere for less. Hint: go to futurgarb for Z-brand and the like. It's just down the road and surprisingly cheap for a lot of the same brands, though for a slightly younger crowd.
Pros: Great stuff under one roof, parking lot
Cons: $$$$$!!!!

I recently visited Scoop for the first time. After my first turn through the shop, a very self-important clerk asked if I needed help. I asked if there was a cleaner version (without a giant skull on it) of the particular item that I was shopping for. The clerk explained to me as if speaking to a child that the item cost over $700, he redirected me to cheap trendy store in another neighbhorhood, and snidely complained about how unsophisticated the Chicago market is. Good riddance. Too bad, the store has some lovely things, but this person would need to be fired for me to purchase anything there.
Pros: women's clothing selection, interior design
Cons: rude service, haughty salespeople
