Editorial Review for Scullys – by Joel Calahan
In Short
Though it has the feel of a neighborhood joint, Scullys possesses the qualities that make it a destination for picky bar-goers: all imported draft beers (Guinness, Hacker Pschorr, Foster's, Blue Moon, Pilsner Urquell), a versatile wine list with boutique labels from around the world, and a purple and mustard color scheme that brings an edge to the comfortable environment. The menu ranges from pub snacks to burgers and sandwiches.

So to start off, I think this bar has been open for at least 6 months now and they still have a pathetic banner sign as there means of signage. You can't expect the public to take you legit when it looks like you are still laying the floor boards, get with the program. Instead of wasting my time writing a completely new review of this place, I'm just going to take the info already here for it and edit it for accuracy in my own experience: ----------- Lakeview late-night not spot combines plastic banner signs with lazyhood pub for a slow-serviced and poser version of urban chic, but it's really geek. In VERY Short Though it has the feel of a neighborhood joint, it's not! Scullys possesses the qualities that make it a destination for nobody: bad specials, slow service, and a wine list that matches your local 7-11. The purple and mustard color scheme, well picture an eggplant smashed with dehydrated dark yellow urine covering the walls. It really fits the environment, the kind that makes you want to leave. The only thing I'll give credit, which is why it's a 2.5 and not a 0, is the food. The food is suprisingly good, it just takes a suprisingly long time to get to you. Also, might as well bring your own canteen, getting refills, forget about it. ---------- The Extras Yes the oh so sweet booths with flat screens. Yea, I think I saw maybe 2 tvs that worked, well corection were on. Tried to change the channel, that didn't work. So you really watch whatever the last sapp had to watch. When to Go Brunch, they can't even serve fries and beer right, you think I'm going to try the eggs? Where to Sit In the summertime months, seating is available on a sidewalk patio, where you have a lovely view of the sign that's been hanging since 100 BC. Come as late as you want on the weekends. The place is usually bare and empty with horrible music you can find a seat anywhere.
Pros: Good food once it finally arrives
Cons: Service, bar sign
