What People Are Saying About MaxBar

In Short – Gone are the icy blue and chrome finishes of the space's former resident, replaced with warm earth tones, unfinished wood and textured flagstone. Downstairs there's a bar to the left and raised seating to the right. A spacious, bar-equipped dance floor opens up once through the narrow hall connecting the rooms. The upstairs VIP lounge has a small bar, but the focus is on holding court with your entourage at one of several leather banquettes.

The first time I went to MaxBar I thought it was fun. There was no cover, the crowd seemed ok, and the music was good. However, the next time I went there it was pretty bad. They were trying to charge a cover at the door and the door guy plus the people inside were all really rude and not much fun at all. Hardly anyone was dancing even though the music was decent, so it was basically a boring and unfriendly atmosphere. I probably would not go back unless it was really late and I was trying to find somewhere to go in Lincoln Park
- Pros: One of the only places in Lincoln Park open til 4
- Cons: Unfriendly staff, so so crowd
This is the worst establishment in the Lincoln Park/DePaul Area

The Details on MaxBar
The Extras:
Bottle service is available in the upstairs VIP lounge.
Know Before You Go:
DJs spin everything from house to hip-hop, with a sprinkling of pop and even creative rock mash-ups. Dancing happens mostly in the main back room, but rogue groups shake it throughout.
When to Go:
This slice of Lincoln is a spectacle on weekends, but Max is one of the few 4am/5am options. Come well before the other bars close shop to better your chances of avoiding the crush.
