Quaint, Old-World B.Y.O.B. brings the flavors of the Dalmatian Coast to Edgewater.. In Short
Adria Mare means Adriatic Sea in Croatian, but even without that knowledge it's not difficult to deduce that this 44-seat restaurant--with its large fishing net dangling from the ceiling and various other oceanic references throughout the space--specializes in seafood. Mediterranean dishes from Italy and Croatia fill the menu, which includes "Captain's Black," a risotto dish with mussels, clams, octopus, squid, scallops, shrimp and crab will test the stamina of every self-proclaimed seafood lover.

Charming Croatian Creations!. You must go to this cute place. When you do, don't miss the olive pate and feta tartlet appetizers! The bread is excellent, warm and paired with olive oil and parmesan. I had the a surprising Octopus Saute- a mound of octopus with potatoes (like a tasty seafood hash) topped with fresh parm. According to the proprietor the decor is that of an authentic seaside Croatian restaurant. Go there! Yule Love It!

Delicious Mediterrean Seafood, great prices & BYOB!. I walked by this place numerous times and with a name like "Adria," I thought it had to do with the Adriatic coast. We dined during the week. The owners were very friendly and attentive. Wonderful fresh bread. If you like seafood like mussels, grilled calamari, shrimp and octopus, get in here right away. If you don't, give it a try - you will realize you love it! My husband had the Captains Black Risotto - outstanding! Wow, I want to return tonight and have an order for myself. I had pasta with mussels, very good, but even better the next day. I plan to try the grilled calamari next time. Food was presented beautifully, prices are extremely reasonable, and it's BYO with no corkage fee. I recommend that they put their glowing reviews from the Reader and Time Out Chicago in the windows and maybe a standing billboard outsid the door when they're open so passers by will give them a try. Business seems to be slow, but with quality and prices like this, they should be packed every night. Give them a try, this is delicious food. They are open Tuesday - Sunday (I think). From 5pm for dinner only.
