Fun-loving Euro pub brings late-night action -- plus curry fries and "football" -- to Little Italy..
In Short
The latest addition to the pub series that is Garrett Ripley's, The Pepper Canister and the Butcher's Dog is very laid-back, partially due to its out-of-the-way Taylor Street locale. The usual pub elements are in place: Flat-screen TVs, classic rock tunes, dart boards, UK-accented bartenders, and all manner of Belgian, Irish, and English brew. The warm space is decked out in European memorabilia (think portraits of Red Square) with a spacious bar and a fireplace.

Awesome. Finally a comfortable bar in Little Italy. There isnt a wide selection of bars in the West Loop/UIC/Little Italy neighborhoods that can cater to the college kids/young professionals/doc's/etc. all at once. I had a great meal...the tater tots rock...and a decent beer on draft (I think this is the only bar on Taylor that cleans their taps regularly). My new favorite bar.
