Vi is Simply the Best Hair Stylist in Chicago. My former hair stylist moved out of town and I had no idea where to go! I got many recommendations from friends and work pals, and did a lot of online searching, but I never got a great feeling about anyone or any salon. I spent over a year just letting my hair grow too long not knowing what to do! Then I came across reviews for Salon de Vive. Something in my gut told me that this was the place to go and I booked an appointment with Vi, the owner. That was at least 4 years ago and I have become a most loyal client and fan of Vi. She is insane good. I actually never had anyone take the time she did, and still does, to discuss in detail not just the type of cut I want, but what look I am going for, what I want to achieve, how I live with and work with my hair, my lifestyle, etc. She gets it! And she always remembers our last visit, what we did then, and what we might adjust this time. Her cuts are ALWAYS impeccable! and they grow out beautifully! almost too much so that I tend to not get my hair cut as often ( I do keep a longer style) And her Color is always perfect. She actually figured out the color that matches my natural hair color almost so exactly that you cannot tell when the color grows out! I can go a longer time than usual without a touch up thanks to her brilliance! Plus she is always warm and kind and really takes time with you, and gives what feels like very special attention. I feel very well taken care of, even spoiled. She is truly a gift and a pleasure! As long as she is in business I will be her client! Thanks Vi, you're simply the Best!

Love Vi, She is the Best Hair Stylist Ever!. I have been getting my hair cut, and highlighted by Vi for the past 20 Years! She also did my hair for my wedding and all the weddings/parties I attended. Can never imagine getting my hair done by anyone else. I will Die if I LOOSE her. Vi is my GIRL! She always listens to what you want and always gives her honest opinion and recommendations on new styles..

My last visit I got a GLOBAL KERATIN Treatment done on my hair. Its turned out fabulous. I recommend this for anyone that has very curly hair and would like to try get the straight look. I still have a ton of body for having curly and thick hair however, it takes less time blow drying and not to mention my hair is sooo silky soft! Highly recommended. Salon De Vive is the place to go!

Love Carlo, He's Awesome. Carlo has been cutting, coloring my hair for over 10 plus years now.

He does great cuts and great color, but he gives me an awesome blowdry. He can get the fine little fly away hairs I have on my forehead so perfect. Highly recommend!

He is quite enjoyable and will give you a great conversation.

Would never use anyone in Chicago but Carlo. I'm very, very picky about my thick, long, curly, frizzy, crazy head of hair. I came to Salon De Vive on recommendation from a client at the Aveda Salon I went to in NYC and met Carlo shortly after moving to Chicago 9 months ago. Carlo always listens to me about what works for my head of hair (years of dealing with this craziness has given me lots of rules!!) and he makes good suggestions about how to make my life easier and my look prettier. I trust him implicitly and he is endlessly patient with the time and effort it takes to color, cut and style my hair.

He has taken my dark NYC head of hair to a lovely shade of Goldy Brown and his cuts are impeccable. After the color change in particular, I received so many compliments and several of my girlfriends asked me who my stylist was. It doesn't hurt either that he is also a delight to spend time with and is perfectly adorable!! I wouldn't use any other stylist!

Cannot give enough praise to Carlo!. Carlo has been cutting my hair for over 10 years now, when I was living in New York I even flew back to Chicago for haircuts/color because I didn't trust anyone else with my hair!

If you're sick and tired of telling your stylist that you want your hair to look a certain way, and walking out of the salon wishing you had a bag over your head - COME TO CARLO!!!

He's a great stylist because he listens to exactly what you want, and provides suggestions when you want a change but you're just not sure what you want. His technical skills are beyond any other stylist I've ever encountered, he's cut my hair short and long, and it always looks beyond amazing! He takes the time to perfectly style your hair, and even more importantly, teaches you how to achieve that same look at home. Carlo has shown me how to take my hair from pin-straight, to sexy waves and everything in between! And yes, he is a master at color - I get so many compliments on how deep, rich, and shiny that my hair is!

In addition to all of this, he is so warm and welcoming - you'll never feel uncomfortable sitting in his chair!

Don't take my word for it though - if you're sick and tired of mediocre cuts, come and see Carlo! You won't regret it!

Stefanie .... is MAGIC!!. A great hair stylist is hard to find ... and I am pretty high maintenance when it comes to my hair. Besides becoming easily bored with my hair, I am always looking for new ideas, and I want a sassy, on-trend look that still is professional. A tall order, which Stefanie has fulfilled for the past 5 years!! She consistently gives a fantastic haircut that continues to look great for months!! I recently referred a friend that was unhappy with her hair to Stefanie .... she loved the whole experience and cannot stop thanking me! Stefanie has a real gift, she is priceless!!

So very happy thanks to Stefanie. I have very long curly hair, it has always been a nightmare getting my hair cut, especially for a trim. I'll ask for one or two inches cut, next thing I know, 5 inches are gone. When Stefanie first cut my hair, it was done exactly they way I wanted it and I've been going to her ever since.

Recently I volunteered for a fashion show and asked Stefanie to do my hair and make-up for it. She did a superb job and also gave me honest opinions and tips on my outfits for the show. Much appreciated, she's got style!

Stefanie works miracles!!!. I have been going to Stefaine for years because she can actually decipher all the crazy ideas I have for my hair and create a coherent, working style that suits me. I have had every color and cut known to mankind (red, blue, purple, platinum blonde, brown, black, highlights, lowlights short, pixie, razored, long, fringe, bobs, layers etc.) and she has made each style look amazing.

I will often bring in pictures and sketches of the type of hair that I want (sometimes just a description) and we collaborate and create cutting edge styles. I have said make me look like a Japanese Anime character or make me look like Reese Witherspoon and she has... and will continually,...with a smile. She is one of the most happiest, friendliest, and versatile stylist in Chicago and I highly recommend her!

Always Satisfied!. I absolutely love Stefanie! I usually go to her with a vague description of what I'm looking for, and she always delivers. She is the only person that has been able to color my hair the exact color I desire. She is extremely personable, and is super sweet. I highly recommend her!

Cool Cut!. OMG Stephanie is a pro! She cut my hair so cute, very cool hip cut, I love it! Get lots of compliments on it. Cute shop too and everyone there seems really nice.
