Good job. I've always been long to short hair but my hair is too thick and coarse so it always bomb up which made me keep away from short hair in daily life. But Stephany did it! Really nice job!

Worth the drive every time. My wife and I moved and we must now drive over 1.5 hours to Salon de Vive to have Emmett cut our hair but it is well worth the trip. My wife doesn't get her hair cut too often so we only go to Salon de Vive when she is ready for a hair cut. We just went yesterday, 6/7/08, and it was another great experience. Emmett is one of those rare individuals who just knows what is going to look good on you. I would highly suggest that you put your faith in Emmett and just let him work his magic without telling him what you want - I think you would be very pleased with the results. The salon itself is trendy, clean, and bright with lots of natural light - just being there makes you feel great. Get there about 15 minutes early because finding a parking spot may take a little time but it's usually not too bad. One other note - my wife and I have two children ages 2 & 1. There is a park just a couple of blocks away. I get my haircut first since it doesn't take too long and then I take the kids to the park while my wife gets her haircut. It works out great. I've been going to Emmett off-and-on for nearly seven years now and I haven't had a bad haircut yet.

SEE VI FOR YOUR COLOR. I'v e hopped around isfied Chicago salons for years , and have been satisfied or just "okay" with my color. Then i saw Vi upon a friends recommendation. All i can say is that Vi is really talented and has such a knack for making my highlited hair look soo natural and remain soo healthy. I see Vi every five weeks for my highlites and my hair has never been in such healthy and shiny condition. Vi always listens, smiles and offers new suggestions so i never get bored. I' ve been happy every time.

Always leave salon de vive with fabulous color. Hello everyone Salon de Vive has the best service, my stylist Stefanie she is great at what she does, my cut and color always looks beautiful; and always great conversation and smile i would highly recommend Salon de Vive to anyone you wont be disappointed.

natural looking hair extensions. i was in search for a salon that offers hair extensions; after plenty of research i meet with Vi at salon de vive for a consultation before leaving her salon i booked my apt for the extensions. Vi is very knowledgable and made me feel very comfortable. Well my extensions look great they really look amazinly natural. Vi is great i left the salon feeling beautiful and confident i have never loved my hair like i do today.

The staff is so friendly and wonderful!. I found Salon de Vive off of Citysearch as I was looking for a place to get a really nice guys haircut. I found it! Vi is incredibly talented and sweet! All the other staff I spoke with were really friendly and made me quite comfortable. The salon is very cozy and comfortable as well. You'll definitely leave feeling as though you could have paid so much more than you actually did. Highly recommended!

Best colorist in the business. I have been in the market for a new stylist; I recently moved to chicago. I was refered to Vi at salon de vive so i looked them up on city search and Vi had quite a few amazing reviews; so i thought i'd give her a try. I have to say that my hair looks the best it ever has. I have my hair colored reddish and stylist always either make too dark with violet tones or too bright very unnatural looking. Well Vi gave me the best color ever a perfect shade of red very natural looking i feel like i look like i was born with this color. Look forward to my next visit.

Bad Extensions. I went here for extensions, which I got to make my hair fuller. The stylist told me that the extensions would match great with my hair and be the same texture. When she put them in, they looked great, but after I got home and washed them, the texture of the hair completely changed (they must have been straightened before they were put in). I didn't like them at all because it took me hours to style my hair in order to blend them in, and I didn't feel like that was worth 600 dollars. A week later, I went back to the salon to have them removed and told them about how I was dissappointed. I wasn't expecting my money back or anything, but the least they could have done was taken them out for free. Instead they charged me full price to get them removed! Not good customer service if you ask me. I wouldn't recommend this place for extensions if you are looking.

over priced and don't listen. not worth it. Um, okay. I've never paid $70 for just a hair cut. Not only that, but I specifically asked the bald man cutting my hair to not layer the front to much because i didn't like how it looked when done that way. Not only did he still do it, but he didn't even blow-dry my hair all the way! What exactly did I pay for? A style I didn't want and a wet head, thanks. I wouldn't go back, there are way better places in the city.
