“best bar if you know when and why!”
“Most people at the bar are very friendly and will want to talk its up to you where that conversation leads!”
“PBR is cold and cheap(go figure).”
I wish the owner would use the upstairs space to expand the dance floor area. I love the atmosphere and the lighted old photographs from the current owners who have owned this place on this very site for 4 generations, The music, crowd and atmosphere is very trendy and inviting. I arrived before my group and felt very comfortable and safe just sitting alone. I like the fact that this night club is open alot later than most - thanks to the current owner of the building,,,,,, My friends from Atlanta thought it was very cool as well.
best bar if you know when and why!. I frequent this little haunt and if your there to hang with a friend or two go early, stay late, and make new friends wether you want to or not! Music is always awesome! You WILL dance and chez out one way or another. Bartenders are always incredible, very pleasant to talk to and look at. Just dont stare. Thats rude. There is plenty of eye candy at this bar for both boys and girls! If you do decide to go after 2 am be prepared to be completly annoyed or have the best time ever! PBR is cold and cheap(go figure). Most people at the bar are very friendly and will want to talk its up to you where that conversation leads! hopefully to the dance floor!!!
Great if you like watching kids make out. We came here early on a weekend, and it was pretty empty. I was warned, however, because this is a 5am bar, it would get packed around 130. Sure enough, around 2am, you could hardly move. The music was good, drinks were cheap, servers were really very nice; but the crowd was a bit annoying. Lots of young, possible underage kids who drank way too much. I saw at least 8 different couples making out and groping eachother in public. Getting to the bathroom was a pain, you literally had to push your way through people, because most would not move when asked. This is the kind of bar where kids go to be seen. A ton of rude, scenester kids packed this place. I prefer Rainbo, Estelle's or Black Beetle on the northside.
Continental. An acquaintance claims that she was assaulted & possibly drugged during an excursion april 14, 2007.
Sleek leather booths and funky wall paneling spruce up this century-old rehab in Humboldt Park..
In Short
Owners maintain locals still crowd this corner tavern despite the transition from gritty dive to contemporary lounge. And to be fair, beyond the low-slung seating and mood lighting, reminders of the past abound--from the original, 100-year-old bar to tasteful black-and-whites documenting the previous occupants. Updates include a high-end sound system playing punk to electronica, and a street-side patio for the summer months.
