In Short
The small storefront on the hip strip along Division is easy to miss, but subtlety here is part of the allure. The space inside is little more than a long box equipped with a modern bar and sharp high top tables. Bamboo accents and forgiving lighting smooth some of the edges of an otherwise austere effect. The food and drink menus read with similar simplicity; pan-Asian appetizers compliment inventive but sensible cocktails like the balanced Jun Bug--Malibu and Midori with a splash of pineapple juice.

Division street has become the ying/yang. To those who remember nothing from ashland to western, except MAS, Gold star, bar 13, you understand. Now I think twice before I walk down division in the am wearing flipflops. It's nuts!!! But I like what Jun Bar is doing. A crisp upscale bar, with great, and strong drinks, with a corner bar local mentallity; This place is fun!! The fact that the owner is always there, and is so down to earth, is refreshing. The staff is great, the music is great( they take requests), and the price is beautious. Plus, they have the only upstairs dance/lounge with no cover, anywhere in that hood. I moved to New York a few weeks ago, and I miss CHICAGO, but i really miss this type of hood friendly joint. Check this place out and tell JOE, that Chris says hey.
