Nice Lunch Specials

I visited Gumrai Thai last week for lunch. The place was busy with nearly all of the 20 or so tables filled. There was a short wait to be seated of about 5 minutes. I was impressed with the value of their lunch specials which included soups, noodle dishes, and standard entrees. Each comes with a soup and appetizer of the day: chicken tom yum and chicken satay on my visit. I enjoyed a generous portion of lard nar. I also asked to order a thai spring roll off the regular menu as an appetizer and was told they were too busy to prepare this. They did prepare a nice shu mai appetizer for the meal. You can "upgrade" your meat choice to shrimp for $2 over the standard $6-$7 lunch entree price.
