This colonial-inspired inn befits its collegial neighborhood and serves as an affordable lodging option for the parents of Northwestern students in town visiting their pride and joy. The hotel combines traditional rooms and extended stay apartments for those who might be in between homes or working in Evanston temporarily. Crown molding, antique wooden desks and chandeliers lend drama and old-world intimacy to the living room, salon and dining room, a look carried to the rooms, which boast floral curtains, brass lamps and stuffed couches. A few suites are equipped with gas stoves, microwaves and full-size refrigerators.
