I am very impressed with this facility. The doctor is very knowledgeable and compassionate. The staff is extremely friendly. They all go out of their way to give yout pet the best care there is. The best testament is that my dog actually wants to go there. He wags his tail the minute he gets to the front door.
- Pros: Beautiful facility, friendly staff, caring doctor
- Cons: Saturday hours could be longer
Rude and Abrasive???? I don't think so....

I went to look up the phone number for the clinic and found this ridiculous review. I had to write a response.
I was actually in the waiting room when this guy came in. Yes he had an injured rabbit but I do not know what he expected the Dr. to do? She is running a business caring for family pets. This was not a family pet, it was a wild animal. I remember this clear as day, when the receptionist said that it would be $40 to euthanize the rabbit, he said that he came in to do the humane thing. This was his demand: "Either euthanize this bunny or I am going to run it over with my truck!" Hmmm.. that does not seem very humane. I guess his wife forgot to mention that part in her review. That is when the Dr. came out to handle the situation because he was yelling and making a scene in the waiting room.
So form your own opinion of what happened with this particular case.
Personally, I think that Dr. Wessels is a wonderful and caring Dr. and so is her staff. I have been going to her for years and have always been treated with respect and care. Then again, I come in with the intentions of paying my bill when she fixes my cats.
I would totally disregard this guys experience. Wildlife is exactly that, wildlife. Let the circle of life take its course and bring your family pets here because they will be well cared for.
She gets 5 stars with me on all levels.
- Pros: Caring Dr. and Staff

We found an injured rabbit that obviously had a broken back but was still alive. We brought it to Animal Wellness of Monee assuming they would know what to do or who to call.
They wanted my husband to fill out a form. He told them I am just dropping off this poor rabbit. I wanted to do the humane thing and not leave it to suffer. They said you still have to fill out the form. Then they wanted $40.00!
My husband basically said - what is wrong with you people, I am trying to do the humane thing here and you want to charge me for a wild rabbit?
Then the vet stormed out from the back and angrily said "You the one with the rabbit?" "Give it to me - you can go!"
I realize that it costs money to put an animal down but how much can it cost for a small rabbit? And how often do people bring wildlife into the vet where it would be a constant expense for them? A little customer service and compassion would have been nice.
We live 5 minutes away from this vet and were thinking of switching because they are so close. That's NOT going to happen! One star is too generous for this vet.
- Pros: None
- Cons: Major attitude from both vet & staff
