Chicago Ridge mall security. I worked for Mall Security and was so mistreated by the staff including Larry David head of security that I had to leave the job also there was an assistant there who's husband was a cop some beastly woman who made my life a living hell. They were so awful that when I left Larry David reported a false charge against me and I was brought in for questioning at the Burbank police Dept for a charge unrelated to the mall! I should have sued thier asses offf Terrible terrible people!
Nice Community to Shop In. This is a cool mall. They have a huge selection of your favorite stores that may not be so easy to find in the city. I love the Sears repair center for any of my car needs...and Steve&Barry's is a nice store to find collegiate merchandise. Don't forget to stop by Auntie Anne's and get a really good pretzel, or visit the nearby restaurants like Bennigans.
Very Family Oriented. I have been going to Chicago Ridge for many years and I really think it has gone up. The look has changed over the years and I think that for the better. I use to think that it was more fore older seniors but in recent years that has changed. Although it is Senior friendly, more Emo kids hang there. It is really nice. My niece is an avid shopper of hot topic (Goth mets punk) and I so encourage it. It is a nice place to spend the weekend and just go shopping with many stores that you may not find elsewere. Try it once and you will go back. From Upscalestores to the average dollar store. Very clean and although there is alot of Security, it really isn't needed as much as say maybe Ford City. It is a quaint spot.
A glimpse of mall life, including roaming teenagers, women pushing baby strollers and folks vying for a good spot in the parking lot..
The Scene
Anchored by Carson Pirie Scott, Montgomery Ward, Sears and Kohl's, you can find just about any retail service here: apparel, books, home accessories, jewelry and shoes (lots of 'em). The open interior also offers a nail salon, travel services, shoe repair and a mattress store to capitalize on your credit card fever. The mall is pleasant, clean and well kept. Apparel stores include American Eagle Outfitters, Gap, Lerner, Express, County Seat and Victoria's Secret. Or catch the latest movie at the Cineplex Odeon theaters. In the surrounding area, you will find JC Penney, Pier 1 Imports, Old Navy and Michael's.
The Skinny
Rent a stroller and get a map at customer service, located near the food court. And, take a bathroom break while you're in/near the food court; the restrooms in this area are the only ones outside of the department stores'.
