Good Neighborhood Gym + Some Great Trainers. Used to be a member of this small boutique-style gym during their "launch" years. So, this is not your typical gym or typical gym experience. This is the anti-Ballys. During off-peak hours, this gym was usually pretty empty. It is probably still this way.

What I really enjoyed about this gym was their trainers. They used to have a couple of seriously smoking-hot female trainers when they first opened and thru my 2 years there. The male trainers were good-looking also for you ladies. I noticed that some of the trainers are actually super knowledgeable and helpful. There were a couple of trainers who were always friendly and helpful and willing to educate you on fitness in a patient manner.

These were not the meatheads you encounter at most every other gym. Well, there are a few meatheads at West Loop also.

You're missing out if you haven't been to WLG!. I have been a member at WLG for nearly 4 years and can't say enough! Before WLG, I was accustomed to the large gym atmosphere where you may spend more time lounging in the locker room or attached spa, but not in the areas where you really need to be...working out! WLG makes you want to workout, want to be involved, and want to be a better person...for you. It is a combination of the amazing staff, on all levels, and the small, welcoming, and unintimidating atmosphere that makes it easier to stick to a plan, a goal, and make a lifestyle change. I personally set out on my path to health and fitness because of a traumatic accident which left me believing I may not return to all of the activities I have always loved...running being the biggest. Not only am I running better than I ever have before, but my entire body has changed form. I am at strength levels I would have never imagined were attainable...even before my injury. I am involved in personal training sessions each week, and I have trained continuosly with 2 different WLG staff trainers over the course of my membership. They have made such a positive impact on my physical as well as personal well-being...it is training with a focus on the mind and body. WLG isn't only the place I go to workout, but where I can hang out with my friends. I have actually developed relationships with the staff and members...we aren't just numbers at WLG! If you want to join a place where you are motivated, provided with the best resources for the purpose of physical fitness, and want to have fun...WLG is for you. Hope to see you soon!

Best Gym Ever. I have been a member for 3 years and love it. The trainers are amazing. They are always changing up the workouts, always adding new exercises and routines. They also take a ?lifestyle approach? helping clients with diet as well as exercise.

The group exercise classes are awesome. They are constantly changing and can be scaled to any fitness level. Newbies and vets alike get great results from the same class.

The staff is fantastic; they know everyone by first name. It is the friendliest gym I have ever belonged to.

Parking is free and it is easy to get in and out of the gym.

Best training for all ages and body types. I belong to four gyms and two boxing gyms. I have been working out my whole life...almost. The training done here..also known as functional training is so practical that it applies to all types of people. You can be an athlete...or a housewife...the training can be geared to cater to you whether you want to be more explosive during a game, or you just want to feel stronger while going up a flight of stairs, lifting boxes and placing them in storage(which is when most people get injured...during every day functional movements)

The staff is really fun and supportive...we've all been to a gym where none knows your name and your just another number. Thats not the case here. I been training with Tino for over two years and no two workouts are the same! It always poses a new challenge and its always fresh. I'm always learning something new.

I can ask him questions and he always gives me an honest sincere answer. I cant even count how many times I walked into the gym and was warming up and he looked at me and said..."Hey joe, Wanna jump in and workout with me? It should be an interesting workout!" Imagine that! You do what the trainers do and they share the passion with you!! Its a part of something fun that makes you healthier.

The most important thing of all this.....THE PLACE IS ALWAYS CLEAN!!!!! Now that to me is priceless! I dont think there is anything worse than a dirty, nasty gym and shower/bathroom area! Tell Tino Joe sent you. Have a good workout!!

A gym with great members and trainers. You know how when you go to those gyms that rhyme with "Rally's", you do your best not to make eye contact with anyone, talk to anyone, or do anything more than get on the treadmill, get off the treadmill, and hope the employees don't try to trick you into buying vitamins and training sessions?

WLG is the first gym I've ever gone to where I like the people, have made friends with other members, the trainers and employees, and feel like I actually WANT TO GO TO THE GYM! The trainers care about the members, are happy to see you, and encourage you to do your best. (Sounds cheesy but it's true!!!) I have been a member for over 3 years, and I have definitely become more fit and more committed to fitness because I like going there.

Details: The group sessions are great, as are the individual training sessions. They have a lot of good functional equipment, not just free weights and weight machines. There are climbing ropes, resistance bands, tractor tires, and all kinds of other odd, but fun things to help your workout along. Also nice cardio equipment including a treadmill w/a 30% incline - it's awesome for hikers!

PS there are also happy hours, parties and barbeques!
