fine. The list was accessible to novice and oenophile alike. I had a Grenache flight that included an Australian, French, and American samples. All were very good.

Citysearch Editorial Review. Feast is one of those restaurants where locals always seem to wind up, whether it be for breakfast, weekend brunch or dinner. An offshoot of its Bucktown location, the Gold Coast branch is as packed as the original. Early-morning diners crowd tables for fluffy build-your-own omelets, gooey challah French toast and even potato skins. The dinner menu takes the same American comfort food route, with taste bud-friendly items like mac and cheese, burgers, pizzas and salads. The scene--a mix of trendy locals and out-of-town visitors from surrounding hotels--is vibrant and lively, just like the original.

Nice outdoor seating. A great Gold Coast location is really Feast's only asset. Service is usually lax and the food is mediocre. Don't be surprised if you need to wait ten minutes or more to have somebody come over to take your drink order.

They are open for weekend brunch, which can be a good hangover cure. If you're thinking of ordering dessert here, don't. Just step over to More Cupcake's a few doors down for something sweet and a little more unique.

Contemporary American nook delivers tweaked classics.. This spacious, hip Gold Coast eatery feels cheery thanks to both its sunny color scheme and the boisterous banter that reverberates throughout. Inviting dishes give young professionals reason to linger at the tightly packed wood tables scattered throughout multiple rooms. Reimagined American classics like bourbon brioche French toast and verde-sauced chilaquiles in the morning turn to the likes of short ribs with blue cheese hominy cake and celery salad at night. An extensive bar menu boasts booze- and wallet-friendly choices like brisket sliders and crab cakes with charred poblano aioli.

Confusing, un-inviting, lousy less than urgent service. My assistant made reservations for 6 of my co-workers & I for 7pm. We arrived promptly at 7pm, to a bustling restaurant with great outdoor seating. We approached the entrance we found no hostess, only a sign saying "seat yourself". Most of the outdoor tables were occupied, & there were no two close together that could fit the 7 of us. We went in, thinking since they took a reservation we must have a table saved (or at least let's find someone to get us settled). So we went looking for someone in charge. After 5 minutes of searching, we got frustrated & cut through patrons at the bar to ask the bartender "what's the deal?" She came out from around the bar, walked us to a side room & said "that's probably you" pointing to a 6 top. Probably, huh? So the 7 of us sat down at our table for 6, ordered drinks, & started looking at the menus put out for us. Glad to be seated, we started discussing what we might order when we discovered we all had different menus! The bartender came back & we asked for clarification...what could we order? Turns out 1 menu was the lunch menu, 1 was an old dinner menu, & 1 was the current dinner menu. By then, some of my group had already decided what they would order & many wanted lunch/old dinner items. Obviously, these items would not be available. We told the bartender (who in addition to being the bartender at a full bar also seemed to be the only service person inside the restaurant) come back in 5...we'll re-group & order. 15 minutes went by. When the bartender returned, we cashed out & left. Is the food at Cru good? I'll never know...the place looked cool but no one was in charge & as such it was complete chaos. Included in my group: 2 chefs & a restaurant mgr...if we couldn't figure it out, how can the average Joe? Are we overly critical? If anything, no, usually less because we understand...but this place is a complete mess. So, we walked down to Jake Melnick's, got beers, cheese fries and great service. Cru=good idea+bad execution.

Exceptional wine list, good food. I visited Cru on a Thursday evening and I was very impressed. I sat in the bar area and the bartender was the only one taking care of the comfortable crowd, but she provided great service. I was very impressed by the wine list. I saw some terrific Washington State wines on the menu, and was even surprised to see a Virginia winery make the grade. The list was accessible to novice and oenophile alike. I had a Grenache flight that included an Australian, French, and American samples. All were very good. I also had a great dinner. I started with the bruschetta that was of two varieties one tomato the other olive; both had great flavors, good portion sizes and well presented. For dinner I had the crispy thai chicken, which was a boneless chicken breast. The skin was still on and definitely peppery and crispy. This was one a bed of jasmine rice that was done up in some way because it was a little sweet and a little creamy; a great balance to the juicy crispy chicken. Also included were crisp green beans and carrots. It was a great ?Thai? take on a typical chicken entree. I finished with an Australian late harvest Semillon that was quite good. The atmosphere is very nice, it would be a great date spot, or just a stop for a great glass of wine.

This revamped popular wine bar draws enthusiastic locals for a comprehensive wine program and approachable small plates.. In Short
Bumped from the corner spot when it closed to remodel, the new space occupies two adjacent storefronts nearly doubling the capacity. A wood-clad foyer serves to direct patrons left to the handsome zebra wood bar, or right to a lounge equipped with a cozy fire place and plush couches. Further back another room accommodates sit-down diners. Everyone drinks wine, most tables also ordering from the smart small plates menu.
