In Short – It's an odd commingling of genres at this salon, art gallery and, well, pre-nightlife rendezvous point. The walls are decked with art, and a roster of services are offered, including haircuts for men and women, hair coloring, glazes and updos as well as makeup applications and brow tweezing. The salon also hosts beauty parties, where guests are invited to bring bubbly--for those who are in the mood--temporary extensions.

thanks guys for writing the good recommendations. I'm a really picky person about my hair and have crazy curls that are impossible to deal with. After less then satisfactory experiences at Big Hair and Supercuts, I did some more research, and came to Strange Beauty Show. The place is small, but the walls are the best color green, and their music taste is pretty amazing. I got Erin who was sweet and gave me an awesome short cut (short for me at least) and subtle red highlights. The red is demure and gorgeous but I think next time I might get it a little lighter... Have to say though, this is the first time I've LIKED a short haircut someone has given me.
the place is very cool, and the prices are very reasonable. NOT TO MENTION STUDENT DISCOUNTS!
Love you guys, will definately come back. Everyone who reads this should go, too.

I recently went to a new (to me) salon and had a bad time and went to post about it on another site and while i left my rant i read the other reviews recomending Majel who is now at SBS.
I went there to have my bad cut redone and had a wonderful experience! The place is totally cute and they have personality!
A bad experience led me to a great new hairdresser, I say you just go to Majel!
- Pros: Adorable! and fun! No drama!
- Cons: hard to see it, it's under scaffolding for now, look hard!

Majel here gives a great haircut. I am a twenty-nine year old male who has been serial polygamist when it comes to haircare, and I have gotten better haircuts from perhaps one stylist, at best, but that was like in junior high school.
Part of the issue is that I have a cowlick that makes my hair look strange within 8 hours after a haircut. Majel takes care of it. Her work is the ideal combination of control, texture, and consistency. I go to her for less than an hour every month-and-a-half, and my hair looks good throughout all of my daily activities, from the office to the bar.
She's got a great personality, too. If you feel like talking, she's hilarious. If not, she's not going to bend your ear.
Good haircut - Zero hassle - Every time - For a modest price - No downside. My highest recommendation. Give this woman your money.
