Editorial Review for Strange Beauty Show – by Jennifer Olvera

In Short
It's an odd commingling of genres at this salon, art gallery and, well, pre-nightlife rendezvous point. The walls are decked with art, and a roster of services are offered, including haircuts for men and women, hair coloring, glazes and updos as well as makeup applications and brow tweezing. The salon also hosts beauty parties, where guests are invited to bring bubbly--for those who are in the mood--temporary extensions.

5 Star Rating: Highly Recommended

Well I recieved a trip to Strange beauty at a slient auction for three of us to get hair and make-up. I am in the industry so i expect alot and at the same time look at technique. I think at first the girls were a little uneasy because we are often called "Lincoln Park Trickies" alothough I was very punk rock when I was younger. We got along so well and the girls did a wonderful job with the hair and make-up it was a great start to our night. No attitude no judgement and tons of fun.

Pros: had the whole salon, drinks, attitude, open late for parties

Cons: small

I recently went to a new (to me) salon and had a bad time and went to post about it on another site and while i left my rant i read the other reviews recomending Majel who is now at SBS. I went there to have my bad cut redone and had a wonderful experience! The place is totally cute and they have personality! A bad experience led me to a great new hairdresser, I say you just go to Majel!

Pros: Adorable! and fun! No drama!

Cons: hard to see it, it's under scaffolding for now, look hard!
