In Short – One of the first boutiques on Division street, this hot spot stocks affordable pieces from hip lines including Kenzie, covet and Chinese Laundry. Owner Clara Pilault offers friendly advice to shoppers whether they're seeking a trendy item to wear out or have questions on fit and sizing. This chic space helped to pioneer this area as a shopping destination for clothes-conscious.
Better than Gap

My teenage daughter and I recently shopped at Noir. We had a great time trying different combinations and selections. The clothes had lots of color and texture. The selection was distinct, unique and fun. Not at all like the huge mass productions of the same stuff like at Gap and Banana Republic (insert yawn here).
Their sale items alone were worth the trip. We found lots fashionable pieces that easily mix and match. They also had affordable, trendy bags and accessories. The sales staff and owner was extremely helpful and friendly. We will definitely be heading to Noir again in the near future.
- Pros: Customer Service, Fun Fashions
- Cons: Parking is limited
An absolute train wreck!
by nstor at Citysearch
You can shop at Noir if you treat your clothing like tissues: their clothes are completely disposable! The clothes are poorly made and the cuts do NOT reflect any sort of European style. The owner purchases them for dirt cheap in NYC and then jacks up the price on items that look like they're about to fall apart. It's as simple as this: European style and design is classy and unique, cheap club gear in disguise is not! Anyone with taste will see right though this facade as well.
And good luck trying not to get in the middle of a domestic dispute while walking in the door to the place. At least that was my terrible experience with attempting to shop there. Noir is a big train wreck in the middle of Wicker Park; you don't want to see it, but you can't look away! Not recommended.
- Pros: None
- Cons: Botique, variety, quality, customer service, and value
