A precious little shop. My favorite little shop, Roslyn is primarily where I do all my shopping these days. I first stopped in for a dress about two years ago and have been returning a few times a month since. Boutique shopping is such a great idea, but I never found a store with a range of pieces I liked and were in a reasonable price range (most items are between $68-$350) until Roslyn. They have really special, smaller designers as well as well-known lines like Elizabeth & James. The girls here are really helpful and always give their honest opinion on how things look. Good selection of pieces for work, weekend, and going out.
Cutest store!. I have to say that I normally do not take the time to review places, but this store is my absolute favorite boutique in Chicago. I always find a great selection of clothing for work and going out and they carry great lines that are surprisingly hard to find in the city. I've had nothing but the friendliest service each time I drop by and the sales people are helpful without being pushy. I will definitely be back.
Bad first experience. I came into the shop on a whim and the owner was straight-up rude. As I browsed, I was jotting down a few items that I thought would make nice gifts for friends. The owner came over to me and asked "Why are you taking notes?" and I told her they were just for me. She seemed paranoid. She huffed "OKAY...?" and rushed off. Despite the look of the store, I got a cold vibe.
Best Boutique in Chicago. If you haven't picked up a newspaper or magazine, chances are you've missed the big news. Roslyn is without a doubt, the best boutique in Chicago. Carrying a mix of established and emerging designers, this upscale boutique is a 'not-to-be-missed' bright star on Damen Avenue. The owner is ADORABLE and you can tell that she really cares about her customers. You wont' be dissapointed (although your bank account may be!)
Very Helpful. I came in to buy my wife a Christmas present and the lady in the store was extremely helpful. She had in depth knowledge of all the designers and was extremely patient as I spent an hour combing the racks for the perfect gift. I recently moved to Bucktown and this is definitely one of the friendlier shops with some of the nicest clothes. Thanks for the great customer service and the stress-free shopping experience.
Super Cute!. Everything is gorgeous! If I had more money to spend on my wardrobe, I'd buy out the store - seriously!
Fun!. This boutique reminds me of something from the West Village! My cocktail dress was an absolute success at my office holiday party, and I'm currently obsessed with a pair of onyx earrings I purchased last week. Everything I've bought is unique, and I always receive glowing complements. Bucktown's the better for having this place in the neighborhood!
my favorite new store in chicago!. Roslyn is definitely the best store i've been to in Chicago. It's totally different from any other store I've seen. I really love the interior space, it's so warm and peaceful and the furnishings are really amazing. The clothes are super cute and there's always a range of new and emerging designers that I haven't seen elsewhere. I've been in a few times and there's always something new. I'll definitely tell all my friends!!
Best Boutique!. Coming from Manhattan, this store is amazing for fashion lovers. The selection of cool labels is edgy, sophisticated and perfect if you want to look good. The designer descriptions really lets you know what each designer (artist) is all about. And there's even a guys selection of cool labels (Filson, Milton Carter T's, Nicholas K, Steven Alan and other great finds) you couldn't find anywhere else in Chicago. Also, like all the photography/art mixed in. If you want to find something high-end and that nobody else has, this is the place to go!
This gallery-like boutique space draws Bucktown shoppers with racks of small-production designer clothes..
In Short
The long, spare room features high-polished hardwood floors and a dramatic exposed brick wall running the store's length. Track lighting spotlights metal racks of color coordinated clothes, one designer per rack. A wall mounted biography backs each rack, encouraging shoppers to linger and educating those unfamiliar with some of the labels. Accessories, like bags and belts, rest casually on the floor throughout. Popular labels include Liz McClean and Collection K.
