Chicago >Maria Paonessa Compagnia Della Bellezza
Maria Paonessa Compagnia Della Bellezza.
My friend and I decided to take advantage of the promotion advertized by a marketing firm downtown Chicago.
I'm usually very skeptical about such offers, but this time I decided to give it a try since I've heard of this salon before from a coworker. My colleague recommended the services of the salon owner Maria, so when I called in to make an appointment I asked for an appointment with her. I was told that she was rarely at the salon these days and the offer did not include her services, since the salon was trying to promote their other hairstylists. The receptionist assured me that the other stylists were very qualified as well. I was excited, and looked forward to getting a hair cut from "one of the best voted salons" in the Chicago land area as the advertisement read, not realizing that I was about the face an ultimate haircut nightmare. See, we all had this one time when the haircut was just not right- too short, too long, just not what you had in mind. I had no idea that it was my turn to experience just exactly that.
When I came in, the stylist asked me what I had in mind and I told her right away that I definitely wanted to keep the length. Then she showed me a magazine and I picked out a LONG haircut, and asked her what she thought. She said that it would work well for me. During the course of the conversation I repeated to her several times that I definitely wanted to keep the length. It seemed like she understood, at least she was not asking any more questions. To make the long story short, what I got was a chin level version of a bob cut (I guess I lucked out it wasn't a buzz cut after all). The haircut looked nothing like the picture I showed to her. When I pointed it out she showed that if I were to use a flat iron it was a little longer. I was letting my hair grow for 2 years!!!! Needless to say I was very disappointed.
She kept assuring me that it looked good. I'm glad she thought so because I clearly didn't!!!.
Then I got my makeover, which was a part of the package as well. The lady seemed rushed and, I felt bad keeping her there. The makeup looked o.k., just o.k. What I really didn't like was that she was using the same brush she probably used on other clients before - it did not look clean.
Afterwards, I was meeting a friend for dinner. When she saw me she exclaimed-"I thought you were letting your hair grow". I thought so too I said grimly. I will not be going back there!
Amazing techniques and care. My stylist had a great attitude and really listened to me. In fact, everyone acts like a family and you usually get other stylists giving you attention.
Not worth the money. My stylist ignored me the entire time I was there. In the middle of my appointment she left me there waiting for over 30 minutes! She instead highlited a "more important" customer's hair. When she finally returned she rushed through my hair so she could close up and leave for the night. I felt the haircut that I recieved compared with a $15 haircut. She did not put the time nor the effort. I would certainly not reccommend my stylist and for owning the company she should treat her customers with more courtesy.
They are such a great group, and they are all Italian! If you want to be treated like an Italian Princess go there!
They also have Davines products which I love! And the Esthetician Amy Rojek, carries Dermalogica--Jane Iredale Mineral Make Up--Sonya Dakar Skin Care--and Dermaquest Skin Care!
