Very disappointed. I picked up a groupon to try this place, but when I called to make an appointment I was told that they were booked until the expiration date, and if I wanted an appointment after I would have to pay an additional fee. Um...lame! If they can't bother to extend the groupon to accomodate all who purchased it, I don't think they deserve any more of my money. From looking at the reviews they don't sound so great anyway, so I guess it's for the best.

Prepare to wait - to get in for an appointment AND when you get there!. I started going to Waxing Room a little over a year ago. I enjoyed it at first. However, since that time the quality of service has dropped and they are never on time. The receptionist is awful; I can barely understand her and she has zero enthusiasm or energy. If you ask her if they have an appointment at 6:00, for example, she'll say, "Nope." That's it! No, "Well....we can't at 6:00 but what about 7:00? Or maybe tomorrow at 5:00?" Just, "Nope."

Tonight, I went to a new place on Clark that does threading. It was only $8 and they did a fantasitc job! At Waxing Room you'll pay $22 for a wax sans tip. I'm taking my business elsewhere now.

Poor customer relations. So I would love to tell you I had a great experience at The Waxing Room; the problem is I can't because I never got to go. I made my appt there for a specific date and time based around a vacation. I made the appt for today, Wednesday at 6pm. I called to confirm this today before heading up and they said I had no appt and they couldn't take me because they are booked. A few minutes later, the receptionist called me back and said that my appt is for tomorrow, Thursday at 6pm. I do appreciate her taking the time to search for what may have gone wrong, but I know I never would have made the appt for Thursday at 6 because I will be on a plane at that time. The Waxing room did apologize but did not offer to make it right in any way. No offer to squeeze me in, discount my service at another time... nothing. So now, on top of the fact that I have 2 trips to pack for, a million other things to do before leaving tomorrow I now have to re-arrange my schedule to fit another appt (which I was very fortunate to get). I recommend you abandon ship on The Waxing Room now and go check out Joseph Michael's on State St.

Great wax. It was my very first brazilian wax and I am 32 y/o! The women who did my wax was excellent and very calming. The only reason I did not give it 5* is b/c the actual room where you have the wax done, was a little cold. By cold, I mean there was no soothing/calming music, no aromatherapy. I would have preferred the room to be a little less stark and more inviting and calming. That is the only thing missing, overall it was a perfect wax with very good and experienced staff. I made another appointment. Oh, and comparatively speaking cost wise, I found they were less expensive than some others my friends use.

too expensive. The place is located on the busy intersection of Halsted and Clark, and has been in business for about a year. I got a last minute appointment, but had to wait for about 20 mins after coming in on time. The technician apologized for the delay, and the procedure was painless and swift. The waxing room is nicely decorated, but has halogen lights directed straight into your eyes. The only other problem was the billing. This was not first time I had my chest and abs waxed, and the charge was 30 to 40% higher than other places, including Roque Salon. It seems that the receptionist decided that was the "correct" charge from their "services menu". So the long wait and overcharging will make me think twice about going back.

Fab experience and friendly staff. I found my waxing room experience to be great, although the prices are a bit high, I truly think it is well worth the trip. I had Ivana, who was extremely professional and made me feel completely at ease. She is really good with bikini wax and I really liked the ambience and how professional everybody was. I have very sensitive skin in certain areas, but the wax they use is great for me and I did not break out (as I sometimes do). I just moved to this area from DC and had a great wax lady there, but I think my experience at the waxing room was even better.I totally recommend this place!

Great first experience.... I had my first ever waxing service of any sort at the Waxing Room, and Lisa was phenominal! I was made to feel very relaxed, and not at all embarrassed. (I had an "Artistic" hair removal - complete hair removal "down there" including back there.) I was given good aftercare tips, and actually, was not too red or sensitive at all. I was able to attend a benefit that evening, dressed normally, and was in no discomfort at all. I am recommending The Waxing Room to all my friends.

Great service, Less Pain, Professional. Went there with my bf and it was a great experience. Lisa is great and does a very professional job. Has more than 5 years experience and is licensed. The place is brand new, only about 6 months in business and treat customers with sincere respect. LIsa made myself and my bf feel very comftroable. Great experience, you pay for what you get so a $45 brazillian--perfectly done is not bad. Will come again.

Smooth Sailing. I too learned of the Waxing Room here on Citysearch and decided to schedule an appt after reading the positive reviews. The staff was professional and the environment clean and welcoming. Cheryl Ann made me feel totally relaxed and her work is pure artistry. I was in-and-out in about an hour or so?.AMAZING?especially since I had my abdominal, bikini, and both legs waxed. My only criticism is that they?re a little pricey, but well worth it! I haven?t gotten other work done as of yet, however I will definitely be going back for any and all hair removal. I whole heartedly recommend trying them out, especially for first timers.
