In Short – Arabic for princess, this plush, approachable Mediterranean restaurant offers a respite for weary Mag Mile shoppers who enjoy elegantly plated, exotic cuisine. Amber lighting, potted palms, a large marble bar and terracotta tile add swank. Meals begin with brick oven pizzas topped with kalamata olives, onions, roasted peppers and sausage. Entrees get more creative with choices like sumac-soused salmon with curry-orange sauce and coriander couscous and thin-sliced baby lamb chops in lemon-oreganoto sauce.
Not worth the money
by Peachy318
We arrived at 5:30pm so the place was really dead and we still were not greeted right away. The place is decorated nicely although the border along the dropped ceiling reading "olive, garlic, pepperoni, etc." was cliche and the glaring Pepsi soda machine was distracting. The food would have been fine, if it was served at an Olive Garden. I got the scallops & lobster ravioli in tomato cream sauce and my boyfriend had the Filet Mignon. My scallops were cooked well but flavorless; the ravioli was fine but you couldn't taste the lobster; in fact, you couldn't taste anything except the tomato cream sauce which was too thick & heavy. My boyfriend's steak was overcooked and the barbeque sauce on the bacon too smoky. It was supposed to come with charred jalepenos but it came with broccoli instead. We ordered a bottle of their house red because hey said they only had house wine, which was still $40(more expensive than even nicer restaurants). Our bill was $165 for two people including tip. For that kind of money I want to be blown away by the food. You could get the same food for less than half the cost at a number of chain restaurants including the Olive Garden and that doesn't speak well for this place. Save your money, with all the restaurants in this city you can skip this one and you really won't be missing anything.
- Pros: the location is good and the decor is slightly appealing
- Cons: over-priced, bad value, not gourmet but you'll pay gourmet prices
