AWFUL Bartenders HIGH Prices. My friend and I ordered Old Fashions. We dine out a lot and from our experience, very few bartenders can make a good Old Fashion. So we asked the bartender if he made a purist, traditional version of the cocktail - he said yes. What came back was KOOL AID - too much syrup, a fat ass orange slice... he did not stir it and he forgot the bitters!!! We asked for a little more bourbon to kill the sweetness and make the drink somewhat palatable. The drinks were so bad, we could not finish them. The check came...The check for those 2 awful drinks were $40 and even HE CHARGED US $12 FOR THE EXTRA BOURBON. Hey Conrad, take a page from your friends at Sable and Violet Hour.

Beautiful Rooms and Wonderful Beds!. Every time we travel to Chicago for a weekend getaway, the only place I will stay is the Conrad. The staff has always been great. The decor is beautiful. I love the marble tubs with the large walk-in showers. But nothing beats the crisp bed linens on the oh-so-comfortable beds! The location is fantastic too. It seems close to virtually everything. With it's connection to Nordstrom, you can shop without even having to step outside. --an added bonus on a bitter cold or rainy day.

Ruined Thanksgiving. The food sounds great, so I thought that the Thanksgiving buffet at the Conrad would be a good choice for a holiday dinner. Too bad I never got to try it. I booked a table through opentable at four pm. I also called the Conrad myself to see what was on the buffet. My friend and I showed up at 3:30 and decided to have a drink in the bar before dinner. We were not approached for 5 minutes, so we grabbed a menu from the bar ourselves. The bartender then came over, and asked what we wanted. My friend said, "thats what we are trying to figure out, honey" he said, "well, excuuuuse me" and turned away- never returning. After another 15 minutes of waiting, and trying to figure out how we offended, we decided to go into dinner. We explained to our waiter that we had been waiting for a drink for 20 minutes, and he said he would get us a wine list right away. Instead, we were given a very limited dinner menu. This was confusing since we were there for the holiday buffet. We were told that opentable had made a mistake and the buffet ended at 2pm. I made it clear that I had also called the hotel and was not given that information. There were only two other tables seated in the restaurant at this time, and I could see that they were both scrambling on their cell phones to find another restaurant. I did the same to no avail, and we ended up having Italian food for Thanksgiving dinner. There were several reasons we left. It wasn't just the fact that we were NEVER served a drink in this entire 45 minute experience, or the fact that the buffet wasn't on. The menu we were handed had about 4 options on it, all of which had been offered on the buffet. Old buffet food? Also, not once were we approached by a manager. We were obviously unhappy. We wasted about $15 in cab fare, and to top it off they canceled my reservation on opentable as if we hadn't shown up, so I didn't get dining points. The food might be good, but I will never know, as the service here will prevent me from returning

Mag Mile hotel restaurant highlights a menu focusing on locally sourced American cuisine.. In Short
Tucked just off the lobby, this classy restaurant brings refined New American cuisine to the Mag Mile. The dining room is city chic with hardwood floors, fresh flowers, banquette seating and mirrors that open up the space. Mindful of its carbon footprint, the restaurant treats hotel guests to a seasonally updated, all-day menu that comprises ingredients sourced from Midwestern farms. Comfort food figures prominently, including dishes like eggs "en cocotte" with pancetta and herbed mascarpone, BLT salad and pan seared Walleye Pike.

Amazing Experience. A quick weekend trip to Chicago with a group of friends landed us at this hotel. We requested our rooms close to one another and our request was obliged. The rooms, hallways, elevators, and fitness area were all top-notch. The bathrooms were beautiful. Even better was the restaurant. Our rate included complimentary breakfast. The restaurant made everything fresh and it was obvious. ALL of the food was scrumptious. One of our rooms ordered late-night room service and was pleasantly surprised at just how delicious and fresh the food was at 3 am. They also wondered if the kitchen had been full-staffed as the food delivery was prompt. Lastly, this hotel has A+ customer service. We were always greeted pleasantly and professionally. Satisfying their customers is obviously a top priority. When a housekeeper accidentally took a CD along with the CD player the hotel replaced with an iPod dock, our Concierge didn't hesitate to replace the CD. They purchased a hip-hop CD from the neighboring record store and had it ready upon check-out.
