Nova Spinal Care Works. I have been having back pain for some time now. I figured it was probably coming from my posture and the work I do which involves a lot of bending. I also wrestle which involves a lot lifting and power. Since the back pain started I have not been able to lift things as I used to and my work and wrestling have shown that. I found out about Nova through my girlfriend and have been going for a couple... of weeks now.

After going for this short amount of time my back feels like it did before the pain, if not stronger. The adjustments feel good and go quickly. I'm not in Dr. Andrew's office for more than 2-3 minutes before they're done. Besides the adjustments, they have a roll-massage table that you lay down on for about ten minutes. It feels amazing as the rollers start with your lower back, work their way up to your neck, and then back down to your lower back. This cycle repeats itself until the time is up. What really makes me feel good is the treatment they call stem which is when they attach two (approx) 2-3in in diameter circular electrodes to wherever you have pain. These electrodes stimulate your back and reduce swelling. After every treatment of this my back feels warm and not tight.

Two years ago I was also injured in a basketball incident that messed up my shoulder. Discomfort in the injured shoulder started happening over the summer. Nova has done its best to alleviate the pain and help strengthen it. So far they have done a good job. They have something like a roll pin that they roll on my shoulder to get out the knots in the muscle. At first it was a little painful but then it felt real good.

I give Nova two thumbs up because I don't feel any back pain or shoulder pain anymore. When lifting my book bag for school, I always think I'm forgetting something because it feels so light compared to how it used to feel when I had the back pain (heavy).

The employees and doctor are nice. Also, they assist and keep in eye on you during all procedures/treatments. I would recommend this for anyone who has pain in their back, neck, knees, shoulders, or muscles in general.

Dr. Gard IS THE BEST!. I BEGAN TO HAVE SHARP BACK PAIN, AND MIGRAINES RUN IN MY FAMILY. I WENT TO A FEW CHIROPRACTORS AND FOUND THAT IT HELPED BUT NOT COMPLETELY. I HEARD ABOUT NOVA THROUGH A FRIEND AND DECIDED, WHY NOT. THE STAFF WAS AMAZING AND DR. ANDREW GARD WAS SO HELPFUL AND REALLY CARED ABOUT MY OVER ALL HEALTH. SINCE THEN I HAVE HAD MY TREATMENT PLAN AND I HAVE NEVER FELT BETTER. I RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO MY FRIENDS,FAMILY AND NOW TO YOU.

Chicago's best. period.. I heard about Nova Spinal Care in the local Edgewater booklet earlier this year and was so glad that I found them. I've had four years of experience working for a chiropractor back in SD, and know what makes a good clinic. After trying a couple of other Chiropractors in the Edgewater area, I was beginning to lose hope that an honest clinic that incorporated stretching,massage, and overall wellness existed in the city! Nova proved me wrong.

My first impression of Nova was that the staff was genuine with their client interactions, I have greatly enjoyed getting to know them as they assist me in my therapy and stretches - so many great people!

I was initially disappointed to find out that my insurance plan didn't have coverage for specialists (which included chiropractic care), but Dr. Andrew worked out a great deal for me as a cash patient. I love that he only charges for adjustments and massages, and all the PT, stretches, and muscle stim are given at no extra charge. - As a side note, I also love that there is no waiting around for your turn to get adjusted, I can stretch and do PT as soon as I get there until I'm ready to be adjusted, or just get adjusted if I'm in a hurry. Great set-up.

Also, I have had several massages here - from both Kim and Laura, and they rock! However, I would say that people need to understand the difference between a relaxation massage and a clinical/therapeutic massage. Relaxation just makes you feel better superficially - and gets your whole body smeared with lotion. Clinical/therapeutic massage is supposed to involve trigger-point and deep work to provide deep and lasting relief. They always have me pick just one or two areas of primary pain and then focus the session around my issues. Yes, I do usually get sore for a day, but they tell me to drink lots of water and use ice or heat if needed and within 2 days I am set to go and feel fabulous! If you're a spa person, then this probably isn't the type of massage for you, but it is deeply relaxing if you understand and appreciate the work of Nova's skilled massage therapists!

Best Choice I Made!. I have been going to Nova Spinal Care for a couple of months now and can not say enough great things about it! I have had back pain and headaches for a while now and was hoping to alleviate some of the pain. Dr. Andrew and his team have done a fantastic job with this!

The staff are all welcoming, cheerful and knowledgeable. They remember my name every time and are great to work with. The therapy and stretches they work with me on are so helpful.

The massages are always amazing. Nova has several massage therapists on staff so there are a variety of different techniques. I went to three different people before I found a style that was what I was looking for.

Dr. Andrew is great to work with. From the very beginning he showed me my x-rays and we discussed my treatment plan. He was very up front of what my insurance would and wouldn't cover. From the very first day I knew exactly what I was going to have to pay and he stuck to it. I often have questions about chiropractic care and he answers them all honestly and thoroughly.

As far as my back pain and headaches are concerned, I have never felt better! I was taking advil almost every day for weeks at a time to alleviate the headaches and now I haven't taken any in almost a month! My back has gotten significantly better. The stretching and exercises that I do while I'm at the clinic have helped so much.

I really can't say enough good things about Nova. I have a massage tonight and have been looking forward to it all week! They really are a fantastic team!

No more headaches or back aches! FINALLY!. Here I am back at Nova Spinal Care again, I originally came to nova to redeem a coupon for a massage from a dealsite and ended up finding out my insurance covers massage and adjustments, so I became a "regular". I finished my treatment plan and shortly after, I hurt my back while moving. So here I am again and I almost had forgotten how amazing doctor Andrew and his staff are! I feel right at home and the best part of it all is that I dont feel like theyre going to keep me here longer than I need to be or anything. Theyre very straight forward. Everyone should know about Nova Spinal Care and there awesome services they offer!!

Big Help!!!. I am new in Chicago and have been so satisfied with my experience at Nova Spinal Care. People at Nova are always so friendly, make me feel welcomed, have great energy, it's a lively place, fun music, and great service. After a snowboarding injury, I have been receiving chiropractic care for the last two years and Nova really fits my need for holistic wellness treatments. Nova is so flexible and accommodating to my work hours, making appointments and visits such a smooth and enjoyable process. I plan to utilize Nova's service for as long as I am in Chicago and would strongly recommend Nova Spinal Care to anyone I know!

Makes Migraines Disappear!. I have had horrible migraines and neck pain for almost 7 years now. I have been seeing a neurologist for that long and have been on both preventative and fast acting migraine medications. Still I was getting 3-4 migraines a week along with almost constant neck and shoulder pain. I found Nova Spinal Care at Loyola University's Wellness Fair. I signed up for a free consultation which includes an x-ray. I have now been going for one month and have only experienced two headaches during that time as a result of soreness after my massages. Dr. Andrew and the staff are genuine and truly care about your progress. He works with many Loyola students and is happy to help students on a budget. His main goal is to make sure you are feeling better at the end of the day.

Best Chiropractor so far I have been to. This place is just amazing... The people are super nice, they are very flexible with my schedule. Basically I love going here. I work at the computer all day, so knowing that I have to come in and do exercises, massages and Chiro exams is something that I look forward to. Still trying to get my parents to try this place out, but they live in the suburbs. If you have time, stop by and try this place out. I have been to 3 Chiropractors and none are as good and knowledgeable as Andrew. Can't wait to go next week again

Great for Migraines!. I started going to Nova Spinal Care in October 2009. I work at Loyola University in Rogers Park and it was only a few minutes away on the CTA Red Line. A co-worker of mine recommended it to me so I thought I would try it. I was pregnant and having severe migraines. I did not want to take my migraine medications due to the side effects they might have. Dr. Andrew examined me and did tests and agreed to help me. I began getting chiropractic adjustments, physical therapy for my neck, upper back and shoulder tension, and even massage. I felt so much better after only a few weeks. I continued treatments throughout my pregnancy and still see Dr. Andrew for monthly check-ups. I have not taken my daily migraine medication since before I was pregnant. I have not even had to take my emergency medication. My neurologist has seen drastic improvements since I started chiropractic care as well. Thank you Nova Spinal Care for all you have done for me!
