Tips for Armaclad Windows and Doors, LLC

April 13, 2013

We have installed hundreds of Armaclad windows, we have installed thousands of windows from other manufacturers. We will continue to highly recommend Armaclad windows. We have very rare, minor issues with Armaclad (screens frames that were screened too tight on a couple windows, a mistake on a grid pattern - both situations were handled quickly at no cost to us or the homeowners). The windows are sturdy, perform excellent, they are durable and we have never had a disappointed customer.

Even a crummy window can be made to perform well - just as a great window can be made to perform poorly; you have to know how to install windows, period. I can almost guarantee that the problems you are having with your windows are due to the installation, not the windows themselves.

After 20 years in this business, we have seen great windows ruined by improper installation. Unfortunately for you, your windows are now probably ruined. We have tried to reinstall windows properly that were installed poorly, and were successful with the endeavor, but, learned that it is far too difficult to remedy the situation, it is easier to get new windows. The vinyl has a 'memory' and when it is distorted from the poor installation, it is very difficult to correct the problem. You are not the only person to be a victim of poor workmanship, and it is unfortunate that you blame the manufacturer, your contractor probably points the finger at the manufacturer as their way of escaping the issue. But, why would you pay the contractor if there are obvious issues with the windows? It is their job to rectify the situation; even if the windows were defective, don't you think that Armaclad would re-make the windows? They aren't in business to sell defective products. Any manufacturer of any product will have some flaws unless they don't produce anything at all. Mistakes happen. Go back to your contractor and demand that they give you what you paid for, new, energy efficient windows that are supposed to serve the purpose they are intended to serve. Give them a chance to make good, it they don't, warn others by writing a review on Angie's List, complain on the BBB, write a review on here. Good luck getting your problem resolved.

Worst windows on the planet. My brother recently had all of the windows in his house replaced by Genesis Construction in Crestwood, IL. Genesis used Armaclad Windows. Of the 10 windows they installed, 5 were defective. They had gaps so big between the movable panes and the frame, that you could pass a business card through to the outside from the inside. Unbelievable. Not only were these windows garbage, but a 5 year old could see they were so defective that Genesis had no business installing them.

Terrible service - never go there again. I recently bought a condo that has all windows replaced (new) with the exception of the bedroom window which is old, i cannot even open the window. I called Armaclad on a Thursday and asked them if they can come for a free estimate on the one window that I want replaced. The man I talked to asked me lots of questions about the window, asked my address and then said he will come to look at it next day, Friday. On Friday I stayed home and waited for his call, but he never called. When I called him, he said that he has other more important things to do that day, but he will come to my house on Monday. On Monday, he didn't come, didn't call. He not even called back to tell me he cannot make it to the appointment. He did not call on Tuesday, either. I called him on Wednesday, and at this point he said that his company cannot replace just one window. When I asked why he did not tell me this from the beginning, HE HUNG UP ON ME. This is the worst service I ever had. I do not reccommend anyone to work with this company and their rude employees.
