best new tapas in Chicago.
best new tapas in Chicago!
went with a group of friends and had almost the whole menu; our favorites the goat cheese
olives, lamb, bee tenderloin and paella...service was great!..and out bartender very nice...we definately
going back! for more tapas and sangria.....
The place for a first date.. I went there not expecting the caliber of dessert we received. It was plated beautifully and fresh made to order. The bartender Kristianna could not be any more attentive and knowlegible on the food. She made some recommendations that I was very pleased with. The Chef Enrique came out to see how we were doing and if we enjoyed the treat. Krisitanna made a wicked martini also. Five thumbs up from me. I made a great choice picking that night for the atmosphere was perfect we chatted and got to know each other.
BEST TAPAS EXPERIENCE IN CHICAGO!.
What's up all.
I'm not the kinda guy that would write stuff about places I visit but i feel like i should let everyone know what a hip spot this place is.
Took a girl there on a first date and boy did it make a good impression. She loved their sangria and had a whole pitcher all by herself. Thanks Ole for the sangria. Made it very easy for me..if you know what I mean.
The food, well...off the hook
Prices...cheap
Service.... Outstanding
ambiance...slick, silky, and sick.
Drinks... ahhh, sangria did the job for me.
Everyone must check this spot out. If I took time to write about it, then trust me you will not be disappointed.
$1 Menu.
So I read the reviews on Ole and to be honest was really torn whether I should go or not. The reviews range from 1 star to 5 stars - Hmmmm?
I haave an adventerous spirit and overall the reviews were mostly positive.
I am really glad I did. I met some of my girlfriends there after work. Though it wasn;t terribly busy there was still a really good feeling. The server was pleasant; the music was loud but not too loud - all making for a good first impression. We were really surprised when the server explained that they had a $1 Tapas menu as well. $1 Tapas - OK!
It was really good. The portions weren't by any means huge but they were defitnely worth more than a $1 and were really tasty to boot.
We had:
Roasted Poblano pepper w/ goat cheese - Yum!
Olive Tapenade - really good
White bean corstiini - outstanding
turkey choizo with a red wine sauce - my favorite.
In addition, we had a couple of their signature cocktails.
My favorite was the fresh strawberry martini"
Missed work - Thanks Ole.
Sooo It is 1pm and I am just getting up. Well actually I was up earlier to call work and "fib" that I wasn't feeling well. Well I guess that isn't too far from the truth - I am extremely hung over. I blame the staff of Ole for this :)
Well this is how it all started. A couple of my boys and I devcided we would check out Ole as it was there 1 Year Anniversary. We got there around 8:30pm and it was already packed. Made our way through a pretty good looking crowd to the bar and order a couple of FREE cocktails. Very cool! They had some really cute servers passing some apps which were really good.
I'll fast forward:
It's now 12am and I am dancing with some chick (I normally would never) to some Gypsy Kings band- a cocktail in one hand and a handful of Heather in the other!.
Needless to say I had a fabulous time and Ole for yoru generosity I will be back!
Say hello Heather
hi
Anniversary Party.
I went there last night with a few of my girlfriends for their one year Anniversary Event. We had such a blast! The place was packed with a great vibe. Upstairs there was at least 100 people so the energy was way up there. They had this great Gypsy Kings style band playing until we left at 11pm - oh by the way got there at 7pm. They had a complimentary open bar serving 10 Cane cocktails and lots and lots of passed yummy appetizers - like a Lobster Bisque, red pepper tapenade crostini. We ventured downstairs and got a free manicure while we sipped on some chamgpagne.
I can honestly say that this was one of the best events (not over the top) I've been to in a long time.
We are actually going there tomorrow night!
Thanks for the invite Ole.
1st Impression.
I have to say I am really surprised that there a couple negative reviews. I went there for the first time last night and I had a really good time. If you are looking for Aria or Everst type of food, service or ambiance - well good luck with that. Ole was really comfortable, really good tapas and the service was extremely friendly. What a good time to pick for my first time as they just started $1 Tapas. Knowing I was only spending $1 - I didn't expect much but I can honestly say that I was really surprised. We got the Turkey Chorizo, Poblano pepper, stuffed mushrooms and 2 diffrent crostinis - all well worth the buck PLUS they were really tasty. Also they have one of the best drink lists I've seen or tasted in a long time. Though a little "fruity" they were superb!. We got a blueberry martini - then a watermelon - then a strwaberry then some sort of lemondae inspired drink. Simply put we took a cab home. The server was nice enough to actually flag one down for us.
Great first impression!
We'll be back!
Great Vibe - Great Scene.
I've heard some good things about this little place so me and the boys went up for some "pre-going out" dinner. Our server in addition to being really cute was really good as well. We started off with some Sangria and that really set the tone for the rest of the night. To be honest I remember the food being really good but the Sangria was "too good". After multiple carafes of Sangria and feeling pretty good we were going to leave but realized the lounge side of this place was looking pretty full. We made our way over and it was on!!!!
Great night! Lots of pretty cool people and attending DePaul it was defintely in the budget
3 times and counting. I have been there 3 times and have really enjoyed Ole. My wife and I live a half of dozen blocks away. Our first time was for a co-workers birthday party. She had it in there private party room - which was alot of fun! My wife and I have been there twice since. It is nice to go to a place where even after only going there a couple times they made us feel very comfortable. Their food is rather good. The shrimp in chocolate sauce is a must. Nice and afforadable wine list. Interesting cocktails and very good sangria.
Last Night.
Went there last night for dinner with 2 of my girlfriends and really had a good time.
We had:
Grilled Beef Tenderloin - really tender
Empanadas - really interesting with the raisins
Risotto - creamy
Queso dip - It's certainly not healthy but was really good
Shrimp in Chocolate Sauce - Sounded a little odd but was our favorite
dish. actually ordered another one
Service was good. Our server was cute and was extremely friendly.
They played good music so when we were done we headed to the bar and had another cocktail - nice list!
I'll defintely be back
