“This place is a combo of the best of BaBaReeba/Iberico mixed with "your favorite local bar" mixed with a trendy but not too trendy lounge.”

“From there wonderful and "DELISH" menu - better than any other tapas place I've been to in Chicago - hands down”
“After multiple carafes of Sangria and feeling pretty good we were going to leave but realized the lounge side of this place was looking pretty full.”
“The bartender Kristianna could not be any more attentive and knowlegible on the food.”
“The portions weren't by any means huge but they were defitnely worth more than a $1 and were really tasty to boot.”
“Also they have one of the best drink lists I've seen or tasted in a long time.”
Hola Ole!.
I'll keep this short and sweet...
I really enjoyed my time at Ole
Good Music
Great Food
Really cool drinks
Service was good - not great but defintely good.
It was my first time there on Saturday and my group all had a good time
We'll be back!
Good Eats.
Good place.
Typical/standard tapas offering but with a twist. The shrimp with chocolate sauce is really good. I know they have other stuff on their menu but I stick with what I like. Also their sangria is pretty good.
Good place to get your grub on and it won't put a huge dent in your wallet
Melly22R - try it before you bag it..
So I read some of the reviews and decided to go. So today I decided to write a review as I was at OLE on Wednesday night and I come across Melly22R's comments which I thought was pretty funny.
Whether some or all of the reviews were fake - the place was pretty good.
Certainly not the best tapas I've ever had but it was very good.
Also the Chef did come out and chat with me and my girlfriend.
Would I go back - certainly.
Ultimately it's nice to have an option in my neighborhood.
Melly22R - why don't you try it before you give them 1 star - seems a bit unfair
Truly Addicited.
Oh my I may being turning into a lush and it's OLE's fault!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Seriously believe me when I say:
I am falling in love with OLE.
From there wonderful and "DELISH" menu - better than any other tapas place I've been to in Chicago - hands down
I was asked to be the guiniea pig as they are totally revamping their cocktail list - Oh my GOD!!!!!! muddled fruit martini's to layered chocolate, espresso martinis to eventual rehab
The boys form OLE also told me that they are pumping up their weekly specials and let me just say: Thank you OLE. Thank you for solidifying my addicition to your food; my addicition to the "juice"...
I thank you
My gals and I love this place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
Lakeview magically transported to the heart of Spain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Another tapas place right? Abosultely not!!!!!! This place is a combo of the best of BaBaReeba/Iberico mixed with "your favorite local bar" mixed with a trendy but not too trendy lounge. Could you ask for anything more - I don't thinkso....
I have been there a hand ful of times with my girlfriends and have had such a great time. We get together twice a week to head out for drinks and dinner and OLE (honestly) has become a weekly tradition. I know what you are thinking - tapas can be so broign after a while - limited menu, blah, blah blah - well you are wrong!!!!
OLE has a new chef that has been there for just a few months and besides being extremely talented he is extremely sweet and really cares about his customers!!!!
Also the brothers that own this fab place are also very sweet though sort of shy...
Just there last night and realized I have never written a review of this place - or any other place for that matter.
I highly reccomend this place whether it is with a group of friends or on a date.
Oh forgot to mention they have a FABULOUS private party room downstairs!!!!!!
New Chef makes a world of difference.
OLE is one Hot Spot!!!!!
So my first time there was a little sketchy at first as it was realtively empty at 7pm on a Wednesday. The tapas were pretty good, they have some really cool drinks and service was spot on.
The 2nd time I went with my girlfriends - we were blown away. I think the word is getting out about this place. Again we went there last Wednesday at 7pm and it was twice as busy as the week before. What really made this night special is that the Chef came out to chat and make sure we enjoyed everything, sooooooo sweet!.
We got to talking with the owner and he told us about some really cool specials they have coming up like:
$1 Tapas 5pm-7pm - HELLO
and
$1 Tapas from 10m-12am - HELLO again
He showed us his new drink menu that should be going into effect really soon - they all sound really good!!!!!!!!!!
It is just so nice to have such a cool, hip spot that doesn't forget how to really take care of their customers!
OLE, I am officially a "lifer"!!!!!!!!!
Top Tapas!!!!!.
Yes I know there are many well known Tapas restaurants here in our fair city.
BaBaReeba - good but a chain restaurant
Iberico - ok to good but incredibly loud, and typically a long wait
Emilos - probabaly one of the worst restaurants EVER
Now take OLE
Small restaurant/lounge.
Not yet discovered.
No long nasty waits.
A Chef that truly cares about not only his food but his guests.
Great drink specials
I've been going for about 2 months and can honestly say that I am addicited.
If you are looking to wait for a table or be surrounded by loud obnoxious people - don't go to OLE
This place is what gives Chicago the reputation for having some of the best eateries in the country!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WOW!!!!!!!.
A little undiscovered paradise in the heart of Lakeview.
As Depaul student I was extremely happy to find something other than the "typical" bar/restaurant so close to campus. It really does get tiring of the same old season and OLE was defintely spiced of my view of this area.
Let me first start off by saying that the owners and servers are really nice and made my friends and I feel really comfortable. In addition, the Chef came out and took time to get our input amd shppt the proverbial s***.
His food was really, really good. I saw some other reviews wondering why the portions were so small - HELLO it's Tapas.
I love it becuase you can really expand your palate and have multiple flavors and textures while still eating the same amount of food if you went to a traditional restaurant.
Oh can't forget the fantastic Sangria
OLE - I think I love you!!!!!!
This place is back and better than before!!!!!!!.
I live in the neighborhood and was really excited when they opened.
Unfortunately they really didn't have a clue in the kitchen or in regards to service.
BUT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!
I heard they got a new Chef - so my girlfriend and I decided to give it another try.
Thank God we did.
The place has done a 180, 360 a 720 it is really, really good.
Service is genuine and very firendly
The new Chef is really good taking simple tapas and really putting a WOW factor on them
Great drink specials
Great atomosphere!!
My new favorite place.
Are you tied of being pushed around?
Tired of obnoxiously long waits?
Well, Ole (for the time being) is the place to go. I've been going there for about 3 months now and it is really good - though getting busier. Imagine Costa Rica or Belize 10 years ago - untouched and pristiine. Now both of these great countries are busy, busy, busy with tourism.
Such a long analogy to simply say:
Ole got a great new Chef so the food is spot on
Ole has some great drink specials
They are not crazy busy - YET
Really , really love this place!
