CORRECTIONS TO THIS LISTING!

Hi, this is from Steve, the co-owner of Sonic Lizard Karaoke, Chicago.

I'm not posting to review myself, but to clarify all the mistakes in this dreadful CitySearch listing for those of you who run across it. We have asked CitySearch to either correct or delete this listing for a year now, but their customer service is lacking in the extreme (as in: non-existent!)

First, WE ARE NOT IN ELGIN! Never were. If you click on the address (which IS correct) CitySearch takes you to a totally incorrect map and gives you totally incorrect directions. We apologize profusely to any of our customers that have been sent on this wild goose chase by CitySearch!

Our FRIDAY night karaoke show is at Davenport's Piano Bar, 1383 N. Milwaukee Ave. IN CHICAGO. It's from 10:30pm to 1:30am. That is what the original listing here advertised (until someone at CitySearch decided to edit it and fouled the whole thing up.)

The other hours in the CitySearch listing are of course incorrect. If any bar has morning karaoke on weekdays, I'm not aware of it!

In a nutshell, we have the best karaoke show, in the city, every FRIDAY night at Davenport's Piano Bar. Please join us for a wonderful time. This will spoil you!

Danger! If you try karaoke at Davenport's on Friday nights, you might not want to do karaoke anywhere else ever again! They hold it in the cabaret room in the back, and what a room! Plenty of seats and small tables, great decor and lighting, and they make some pretty mean cocktails to boot. And if you're there to sing you'll appreciate that there's no pool table to climb over or a video game at your back -- you sing from a real stage, and you can actually hear yourself the sound is so good.

There's a great hostess too who makes you feel right at home, helps you look up songs, and introduces the next singer. And if you can't make up your mind what to do, it helps that they let you do two songs at a time -- I don't think I've seen that anywhere else! Their song list is so big, it can be hard picking what you want to do.

The bar is great too, quite trendy without being at all snooty. There's live music in the front room with karaoke in the back room at the same time. And the staff pays attention to you - they were great! I've never had this much fun doing karaoke anywhere.

• Pros: Best place to sing karaoke in the city!
• Cons: Too many songs to choose from.
