Hiding in a small storefront on Milwaukee near the interstate is one of chicago's best (and cutest) bakeries. Stop for coffee, stay for pastries.
I love you, Lovely!.
Lovely bake shop is one of the reasons I love Chicago. It definitely brings a little bit of the south up to our lovely city. They have sweet tea in the summer - and pecan pie! Oh my! Their carrot cake cupcake is one of my favorites! Honestly - I could come every day. Try the turkey pesto and split pea soup!
Thanks, Lovely for being, well, Lovely!!
Muffins Muffins Muffins.....I LOVE MUFFINS!!. Open the door take five paces and welcome home. What else can I say except you can get a bottomless cup of coffee for under $3 and if you are up to the task some wonderful baked goods. Everything is fresh and tasty and you won't sorry. The crowd is diverse and there is plenty of seating. Oh and did I mention free internet also. Oh and did I mention I LOVE MUFFINS!!!
Such a fun little coffee house.. Lovely bakery is a must try place on the edge of Wicker Park. It is so cute and quaint with great outdoor seating. They do have plenty of roomy seating inside too. It is a great atmosphere with good pastry's and food and great coffee. It is a must try place. Try and go when you have a chance to stay and enjoy the atmosphere while you enjoy your coffee and snack.
Cool, funky, smells great, coffees hot and fresh. I was told about the great little new spot near my house. When I first walked in, it was like a movie set. The music, customers, furniture, wait staff and all the tasty treats have made me a regular customer.
West Town cafe is a nod to mom's country kitchen with its selection of pastries, jams and teapots..
In Short
Twenty-something hipsters look strangely at home in this 1950s bakery with its black-and-white wall photos and general store in back. Kerchief-headed, apron-wearing bakers serve coffee and tea behind an L-shaped counter and dole out everything from chocolate chip cookies to elaborate raspberry almond tea cakes. Locals lounge on overstuffed couches and wooden rocking chairs alongside tables topped with polite placards requesting that dirty dishes be left for staff to clean up.
