They get it about my hair, and let me be me!. Have you heard “"You have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find your handsome prince?” The same can be true when you want to find the perfect hair salon, let alone being new in the area. I am amazed I got so lucky when I decided to try Amy G.

I’ve been told on more than one occasion my hair is very challenging to work with…but I also know the exact right cut can make it look fabulous.

That, and great color, the right look and style, all of it wrapped up in one salon where you are comfortable is the goal. (Good luck with that, right?)

Amy’s expertise, insight and understanding of what was needed was almost immediate.

Arek's talent and vision for the most attractive color was also not a struggle, in fact they both knew exactly what to do, and were right.

On top of that, they styled my hair differently than I could have imagined, and I feel happy when I see myself in the mirror. How many times can a woman say that?

This review may be misleading if it sounds too gushy.

Anyone who knows me can tell you I have very high standards; I know the difference between work that is “fine” but not fabulous. Who wants “fine”? ...not me!

I highly recommend the salon to anyone; my time with Amy, Arek and the staff has been terrific, and I am grateful to have hair I love again.

Pass on Hair Extensions here. My experience at this salon was the worst. I was told by the owner Amy G that the hair was guarenteed if it wasnt of the highest quaility. The hair that I paid big money for was a rbirds nest. No way to comb through it at all. Amy never sent the hair back to get an exchange like she promised. She doesnt sell products that work with the hair extensions and basicly was not co-operative at all. So all that money just went to waste.I ended up spending more money at another salon that just specializes in hair extensions and now they are perfect. Not a good investment in yourself. Plus the ever changing staff, its confusing, who works there this week?Oh and lastly, I think the only cash tips are shady.

My hair looks great!. I went to Amy in the hopes that she could fix my hair after it was butchered by a stylist at another high-end salon in Evanston. Before I could even describe what was wrong, she had figured it out and was telling me exactly what needed to be done with my hair. I was blown away that she knew what I wanted and could describe it better than I would have been able to.

After my initial consultation, I waited about a month for the hair to grow in a bit and then went to her for a cut. There were some things that can't be fixed until the hair grows a bit more, but the cut she gave me is already outstanding. My hair looks so much better (when I look in the mirror I feel like I look like the real "me" again) and it falls into place naturally without a lot of blow-drying time and hairspray.

I am so impressed with Amy's abilities as a stylist.

Great Salon. I was referred by a friend an was so completely satisfied! Amy cut my hair and Arek colored it. the consultation was fun yet informative, they worked as a team and gave me the best hair I have ever had. I highly recommend this salon. They are knowledgeable and highly trained to give you the best hair color or haircut you have ever had. All my friends have already given me so many compliments. So If you want the best hair ever, SEE this salon now!!!

Just Go!. I bid on an auction item for a gift card for this salon, mainly because I have seen so many of their cute little baskets at various charity events, and so many people have been talking about how great this salon is in Evanston.

I have to say the receptionists are amazing and very nice, they had to put me on the waiting list with Amy because I planned poorly and I was amazed that they actually called me and got me in when she had a cancellation. So thank you! I felt that this salon really cares how you look and how you feel while you are there. I love my hair, I will be back.

Great Hair Salon for All. Amy G Salon has been a very welcome addition to our neighborhood. My husband and I, our neighbors and friends love having such a talented group of stylists so close to our home. Not only is it convenient, but I now have the best hair cut I've ever had. Amy is professional, fun, and has wonderful judgment about hair styles.

She took what I had to say about my busy life and my willingness (or really unwillingness) to spend time on my hair and gave me an easy but great looking style.

Hair Extension Guru. I was so sad, I went to another salon to get a haircut, the girl had no clue she cut it into a choppy bob that I hated. I had heard of Amy G from other people in my neighborhood. I wanted my long hair back and really wanted extensions. I had a consultation(which was free) Amy told me what we could do, picked out colors and told me how to maintain them. In the end I have never been happier. Even my husband does not mind because obviously hair extensions are costly but he loves me in long hair.

Amy is such a guru at hair extensions. She has a client for life now.

The it spot for Hair Extensions.. I was a little nervous about finding a new hairdresser because I do wear hair extensions. I Googled hair extensions in Evanston and Amy G salon came up. ( Great video) I knew she would be my new stylist. I went in for a consult and you can tell she knows precisely what she is doing. Hair extensions are a big investment and as long as Amy G is in Evanston that is who I will be going to.

Best Place in Evanston. I am so happy that Amy moved back and opened up on Central st. in Evanston. She moved away for two years and let me tell you, that was two years of bad cuts and hair trauma. She just has this way of doing hair. She listens and its almost as if she reads your mind, and you leave the salon feeling great. She is a fun person to visit with every six weeks as well. I recommend her to all of my friends and family. If you see her its well worth its price in gold.
