Not a good choice for sushi. My mother and I ordered the sushi for two, and this was during a busy business lunch rush. We enjoyed the decor and environment of the restaurant, especially the restrooms, which were very clean. However, our waiter was completely incompetent, knew nothing about the menu and completely forgot to bring our miso soup that was supposed to come before our sushi. We had to ask on four separate occasions for our soup, and he finally brought it AFTER we had finished our sushi. Our sushi was also not of the best quality. While it looked nice on the platter, the fish was not the freshest and already had a fishy taste to it. We were very disappointed with our overall experience. If we come again, we will definitely try the Thai side of the menu.

No Service Whatsoever!. I have eaten here 3 times, but only sushi and only at the sushi bar, but service was always so inconsistent, different waiters flying by, but I just handed in my order to the sushi chef and they would make and deliver my sushi rolls. Today I wanted to try their Thai, I was seated, and waited 30 minutes for a waiter. There were no waiters in sight. I noticed that the customers who were seated up front had their food, but no waiter ever came to see if they needed something else. I waited, and waited, and waited, but no one ever came to me, no apologies, nothing. I thought I would mention it to the hostess as I left, and she was no where in sight, No bartenders, nothing. This restaurant will soon close, as people will not accept this at lunch time when you only have an hour to spend on WAITING!

Good sushi. I went for dinner last Friday night, and was pleasantly surprised by the maki. We had a few different rolls. Spicy Tuna had the perfect amount of heat. Rainbow roll was also tasty. The dumplings were very full of shrimp and pork, and a nice way to start out the meal. Thai Urban Kitchen is a nice find!

Poor service!. I should have know that when no one greated us at the door, there would be a problem. The bartender seated us without a word. I tried to tell him that we had reservations, but, he didn't even acknowlede that I was speaking to him. No wonder, there were only 2 other people in the restaurant!! The waitress was slow and so were our drinks. She blamed the bartender for the timing and didn't even offer to compensate us when she delievered our drinks (after asking twice) after we had finished our dinner. The food was good, but, the slow and disinterested server did not make up for the poor experience. You will definitely get better service in the food court!

Perfect for missed trains!. I went into TUK the other day because of course, I missed my train! I hate going into the food court at Ogilvie so I thought I'd try out Thai Urban Kitchen instead. What a clean and modern addition to the station! I had sushi and had so much fun watching the chefs make it! The food was great, the staff was super friendly and I was able to get in a better than average, healthly meal in while I waited for the next train! I would definitely recommend! Also, I can't wait to go back for dinner! I heard they are opening at the end of November!!

Hip and chill despite its train station locale, this eatery courts commuters with creative, affordable Thai dishes. The sleek dining room is pristine with white tables, bright white columns and a sculptural fountain. House specialties run the gamut--from berry and kaffir lime sugar-accented brioche French toast for breakfast to lunchtime maki, semolina fritters accented with coriander and chili and pad Thai with smoked tofu.

TUK did not measure up on the service.... Yesterday (10/31/2007), I had lunch at TUK (Thai Urban Kitchen) with a friend. I was really excited about a new restaurant in the Ogilvy transportation center. The atmosphere and decor were nice. The food was good. However, our service was extremely slow. We made ourselves feel better by saying our waitress ?forgot about us,? but we had to ask for the check and for someone to get our waitress so we could pay. She was equally slow bringing back the change.

However, that?s not the most disappointing thing that happened. One of the women who sat next to us found hair in food; hair that didn?t belong to her! As a result, her dining companion was disgusted and couldn?t eat her meal (My dining companion and I were finished with out meal but equally disgusted). Anyway, when she pointed it out to the waitress she was very nonchalant and not very apologetic. When the bill came, they were charged for one meal although no meals were eaten. They agreed to pay for the drinks but not the meal. They were polite and respectful but the manager had to be called over. Finally, their meal was compensated.

I thought it was so strange that they would not be compensated immediately with a sincere apology and that they had to call the manager. This definitely turned me off. With all of the wonderful sushi places in the city, I will be hard pressed to go back to TUK. Dining is not only about food. It also is about service, ambiance and dining companions. TUK did not measure up on the service.

Misleading. Every entree on the menu is made with fish.

Unlike every other Thai restuarant on the planet, they will not accept requests to make even a single entree on their menu without fish sauce. Who ever heard of a Thai restaurant with no vegetarian food?

And they are deceptive about it, too. They have tofu dishes on the menu - which they must know will mostly appeal to vegetarians. And f you ask them whether their entrees are vegetarian, they will say yes! When I asked specifically about fish sauce, the waiter actually wanted to argue with me that fish is vegetarian! One has to wonder what else they're putting in their food and not telling people about.

The decor is indeed great, but that's about where the restaurant's virtues end. Hopefully some other restaurant will move into the space soon.

Decor is Amazing!. Thai Urban Kitchen such a cool location. Its located inside of Ogilvie and the decor is not what you would expect when you walk in. Very sheek modern, with a really cool fountain in the middle of the dining room. The food was really good, sushi was amazing, and very beautiful and creative. If you go by yourself sit at the sushi bar and watch these guys make it!

Will not be back. Ate at TUK today for my birthday. I asked for my dish without bell peppers. They brought it with peppers. The waiter was very apologetic and sent it back. Then they sent out the wrong dish! It seems the kitchen just picked something else that didn't have peppers! The waiter felt terrible and asked the manager to comp my entree... and the manager refused. He sent the waiter with some coupons toward 50% off breakfast... which were in a stack at the front entrance.

Will not be back and will tell my friends.
