A+ for parties!.
A+++
The staff is tremendous. We booked a happy hour party and had a fantastic time. The appetizers were huge and the service was attentive and cordial. They let us stay until 1am and our party ended at 10pm. The Tap wall is very impressive and they have bags.
worst burger EVER!. Last night a co-worker and I both ordered blu cheese stuffed burgers with bacon for pick-up. They asked how we'd like it done and we both requested medium-rare. Both burgers we very well done, dried out, and the char-grill taste was overwhelming. The amount of blu cheese in the burger was a joke. The worst part was that it was an $11 burger! Totally disappointing...
Office Girls Love the Franklin Tap. My friends and I have been looking for somewhere new to go in the loop- dive bars stink, and we've been to other hot spots too many times to count. So we went to the franklin tap after a full day of work- and it was definitely up to our high standards! people, drinks, drinks, drinks, appetizers, drinks... you get the picture. I really like the fact that it is a clean place, lots of fun people, and we were able to relax and get our drink on. We tried lunch there too, and the meatloaf was really good and big. The girls and I will definitely make this one of our new spots.
Dim lighting and close quarters keep this Loop bar under the radar..
In Short
This Southeast Loop watering hole achieves an underground vibe with little street presence and low-key lighting. Inside reveals nice details: Burnt, orange-y walls look fine alongside faux-flagstone wainscoting, and sturdy highboy tables cover the open center space. Efficient bartenders make-em fast and strong for stressed traders and harried 9-to-5ers. Management hopes the drinkers will stay for food, like heavily seasoned fried proteins and heaping sandwiches.
