Good place for a haircut!. Fun barber shop type place in Boystown with a good vibe, and pretty cheap, I got the buzz cut for 18 bucks. I haven't been back there for a couple years but glad I gave it another try. The last time I was there I think they'd just opened and some stylist messed my hair up. Everyones really friendly and i'll definitely be going back.

To ChicagoMale Power. Dear ChicagoMalePower,

I am sorry you did not feel you had satisfactory service at our salon. However, I would like the opportunity to make it up to you free of charge. Satisfaction has always been my #1 priority in the 18 years I have been in the salon industry. Please feel free to call me personally.

Sincerely,

Dave Halford

Chicago Male: Great idea, greatly executed. Best stylist: David Halford hands down.... I moved to Chicago 6 years ago and it took me over half that time to find a hair salon I was comfortable with. When Chicago Male opened, I found a salon I'd never leave. It's a comfortable atmosphere, cool in summer and warm in winter, the front desk guys are great (so I'm not sure where that other comment-er is coming from). Dan Malone used to cut my hair but, in what some may call irony, he's leaving hair cutting to become a phlebotomist. When Dan left, I drifted around the salon. Everyone there is good but I still didn't find a new Dan. Then they hired David and he happened to be available when I was. Happenstance has given me a new stylist. I am 44 and have all my hair - the downside is it gets puffy when it grows out (& extra puffy in winter). Since David has been cutting my hair, the puff is gone. My hair is growing in so that it looks as neat 2 or 3 weeks later as it does the day I walk out of the salon. Also I have the dreaded unibrow but you would never know it: David not only waxes them but carefully plucks the extras that the wax doesn't get - and the end result is natural, not girly. Last visit, he suggested a hair relaxer because I have very thick hair. I was a bit reluctant but I trusted David - it was a great idea, it helps more with the puff potential and prevents bad winter hat head. David is also trained as a licensed acupuncturist and I would LOOOVE it if Chicago Male would bring that service into the salon too. David works really hard - even Sundays which shocked the sh*t out of me. I highly recommend Chicago Male and David Halford. If David isn't available, he's worth waiting for. If you can't wait, Ric who manages the salon is good too. They both give the best head rub shampoos of anyone who's shampooed my hair in my 44.5 years (though Mom probably did a decent job too when I was an infant - give credit where it's due). Bottom line: Chicago Male is the only salon I will go to and David Halford rocks.

Drews the Best Stylist EVER!!!!!!!!!. So i just moved here from TX and i loved my hairdresser down there shouts to Greg in Austin!!! So i was really bummed when i moved here and realized that i had to start all over trying to find a new stylist. Well on my first try i called up the salon, located in boystown and got a haircut with Drew! He was so funny we talked the whole time and when i looked up at the mirror to see myself wow i looked really good! Go and see him he really does excellent work, otherwise why would i tell everyone!!!! and he is super cute!

The BEST haircut I have ever had!...handsdown. I just got the BEST haircut from the new guy Dave at Chicago Male. He listened to what I had to say, then gave me the best shampoo of my life. It was great because I was just getting off of work and needed the de-stresser. Also, I think he has a background in acupuncture. Anyway, my haircut is so easy to manage and even some of my friends noticed. This guy is FANTASTIC!
