“Having moved to Las Vegas from the Chicagoland area, I crave good Korean food when I'm back in Chicagoland area.”
“The service is great; our waitress actually cut up our food for us and grilled it, all the while keeping up with casual conversation.”
“The prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get.”
Last Korean restaurant we could go.
I enjoy korean food on my trip because i'm a korean background. Today, I had the worst memory for Korean restaurant in Chicago. I've never met such a terrible one.
I couldn't see any kind of service which I can easily see in usual Korean restaurant in the US.
No service nor mind, but 15% compulsory tip.
Very Poor Service/Bad Attitude. I ordered an entree called "Kimchee Gigae," and made a request to have extra meat. The manager said no problem and understood my request. I was served moments later, but without the extra meat as requested. I had no problem paying extra but when I asked her politely if she could remake it or bring me some extra on the side, she was very callous, apologized but said she made the request but the cook forgot so there was nothing else she could do. Later she further stated that she tried her best at which point I asked to speak to the owner of the establishment but was told by her that he is never here so that I guess explains everything. I told Jessica who is the manager that this was the last time I would ever patronize this restaurant and would put my review on this website which she chuckled. I for one will never come back and my other friends as well.
Best Korean I have been to, by FAR. My family is Korean. My mother cooks Korean food for my sister and myself every single day, she has owned at least 3 restaurants during the past 15 years, and both of my parents have been in the restaurant business for well over a decade. Now, with all this boasting being done, my parents went to Chicago about a year ago for business purposes. After eating at this restaurant, it was good enough for them to suggest that our entire family take a trip to Chicago, Illinois to eat at this place. We live in Columbus, Ohio. Naturally, a 12 hour drive seems a bit much to eat a meal. and honestly, that's what I told my parents; "I don't want to drive 12 hours to eat dinner." However, I went in the end, and I must say that this restaurant was by far the best Korean or just restaurant in general that I have ever been to. The service is great; our waitress actually cut up our food for us and grilled it, all the while keeping up with casual conversation. secondly, the food was amazing. The "Kalbi" (Marinated Beef) and "Samgeupsahl" (Pork slices) I had was the best I've had in my life. The prices were very reasonable, the portions were very large, and the area was clean. An additional notable factor was the efficiency. The food came out fast, but very well cooked. There was even complimentary "Duen Jang Jigae" (A hot soup) that was delicious. As you can probably tell, I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant, and if you're in the area, I see no reason why you should not take some time to eat at Arirang.
Good Authentic Korean in the Suburbs. Having moved to Las Vegas from the Chicagoland area, I crave good Korean food when I'm back in Chicagoland area. My wife and I tried this place with my mother and my aunt for dinner and had to go back and have more for lunch two days later. The prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get. Can't wait to go back when I'm back in Chicago
