Bad Results

I got my hair relaxed here in December and the assistant that put my relaxer in put the chemical in and then left and went downstairs for 15 minutes and I could not find her, and i started calling for her and then she finally came back and then took another 5 minutes looking for a comb and fooling around with the water. So it took her 10 minutes to put the relaxer in combined with the 20 minutes afterwards, so the chemical was in my hair for 30 minutes and was overlapped on to already relaxed hair so my hair broke off in the back of my hair. if you value your hair and don't want to be overprocessed and have to search for your shampoo person, dont go to this salon. It was a horrible situation and I had to chop of more than four inches of my hair because of the inept assistant.

I dropped of my girlfriend to get her hair done at Marquin. I arrived early to pick her up so I went in. I was impressed by the decor of the salon, but even more impressed with the owner/stylist, Montgomery. After talking for a few minutes, I could see he knew his stuff. I am very picky about my hair. I let him do my hair and I have never been so happy with a cut in my life. I can see how he won all those international hair competitions. His trophies speak to that. No one will ever touch my hair again except for Monty and his staff. They are the best.

• Pros: They are up on all the newest techniques and styles
• Cons: That I didnt discover him sooner

Client for life!

After moving to Chicago in 2005 and searching for close to 2yrs for a stylist, I was about to give up. I have very coarse and wavy hair and it's very difficult to manage. My husband came home and spoke of Monti who owns Marquin and that a coworker and his wife have being going to Monti for awhile and only had great things to say of the salon. It's a one man show, but let me tell you folks, this guy is beyond wonderful and his prices for color and cut are unbeliveable for the results you get. I recently had to move back to Texas and flew back in to have him color and cut my hair. He'll have me as a client for life! Please, do yourself a favor, give Monti a try. All I can say is wow! I myself use to be a hair dresser and give him total thumbs up. Look foward to seeing him again, worth the plane ticket! Thank you Monti for such great service and great conversation. By the way, you can also get facials and eyebrow waxing there too with Shelly! Fantastic!!
