“We had warm peach cobbler with ice cream and, my favorite, banana pudding with vanilla wafers!”
“Its trippled in size so no more long waits, beautiful new bar, and I think they have life music almost every night.”
“The portions were more then adequate and while I don't claim to be an expert with bbq, the meat was extremely dry and maybe a little bit burned.”

The prize-winning cue packed 'em in long before Guy Fieri caught wind of this spot. Ribs an pulled pork rule, but there are good veggie picks too. Live music i a bonus.
New bar. awesome music. AMAZING BBQ. Ill preface this review with the fact that my whole family is from Memphis so I know REAL bbq. And this is it! I had the rib tips and my friends had the award winning pulled pork and the baby back ribs. The pork was SO tender and moist. The ribs were meaty and tender as well. The BBQ sauces were really great too. You gotta try the signature sauce, the spicy one. PLEASE leave room for dessert. We had warm peach cobbler with ice cream and, my favorite, banana pudding with vanilla wafers! A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! This place has come a long way since it first opened. Its trippled in size so no more long waits, beautiful new bar, and I think they have life music almost every night. I think they've perfected their recipes too cuz its a lot better than the food I had when they first opened. Will definitely be returning. Only bad thing is that they are no longer BYOB and they aren't open for lunch during the week.
Awful hours. Me and my husband were in the area for a late lunch and remember seeing this place on Check Please. We showed up at 3:30 and the doors were open. Once in we were pretty much instructed that they do not open until 4pm and to leave. Although there was a party going on and obviously cooking going on in the kitchen and staff. I was pretty disappointed that the owner could not let us in just 30 minutes early. It was a very cold day, we had paid for the parking meters etc. So we left and I do not plan to go back to a place that is so strict with letting in paying customers.
Had to wait the longest time for a table. My wife and I first saw the restaurant on a local cable program "check please" which prompted us to give it a try on a saturday night. As soon as we walked in we gave our names and I kid you not, we waited at least two hours for our table. I have never waited two hours for a restaurant in my life but my wife convinced me to wait "a little bit longer." My wife ordered the half rack of baby back ribs while I ordered the full rack. The portions were more then adequate and while I don't claim to be an expert with bbq, the meat was extremely dry and maybe a little bit burned. With the number of bbq restaurants in Chicago I doubt we will return to the HonkyTonk BBQ any time soon.
Country-themed Pilsen barbecue pit serves smoky meats to its namesake beat..
In Short
Barn door, shingle and wagon wheel accents hint at what to expect from this small, applewood and hickory-scented, Memphis-style barbecue joint, where a second dining room handles near-constant overflow. Providing a departure from its taqueria neighbors, the eatery tempts barbecue fanatics with its dry-rubbed baby back and St. Louis-style ribs, pulled pork sandwiches and brisket. Staple sides like beans and cole slaw complete the country meal.
