Cherry and cherry-rhubarb sure bets (pair with Snookelfritz vanilla ice cream, Scooter's custard or Black Dog Gelato). If you're buying the goods at Green City Market Wed. or Sat., come super early - they go fast.

Sheer perfection! Seasonal fruit pies are top-notch & banana cream is out of this world. Strong coffee, amazing scones too. Mini pies too!

Terrific Apple Pie!.
Was passing through Chicago. Had heard of the Hoosier Mama Pie Company. Had time, so decided to drop in off the CTA at 'Chicago' on the blue line on the way to the airport.
Bought an apple and pear pie, which I froze when I got home. Ate the apple pie two days later. The reheated pie was delicious. Pastry had just the right consistency, sweetness and crispiness ...even after being frozen! Apples had wonderful slight clove taste - the way I like it (reminded me of the wonderful pies back in Old Country - UK).
I'd very highly recommend it.
Haven't had the pear pie yet, but I'm salivating now just thinking about it!

Apple pie not baked. Finally made a trip to Hossier Momma. I bought the Smores pie and Apple. The Smores pie was very thick, rich, and full of chocolate flavor. The crust was exceptional too. The apple however, was disappointing. While spiced and flavored nicely, the apples were not baked all the way through. They were too crisp and undone. I'm not talking firm, I'm talking HARD. I had to bake the apple pie in the oven to cook them. The crust was also underdone to being almost pale. I understand the need for speed in getting your product out for sale but really someone should have noticed at least the color of the crust and either baked it more or not have sold it in the first place.
