In Short – Walls splashed with bright pink, orange and brown attempt to recreate the feel of the namesake painter's work. A mural and pictures of Kahlo drive the point home. The menu, on the other hand, is all about homey classics, with appealing starters like pomegranate-topped guacamole and a wide array of tamales. Epazote-scented enchiladas in black bean sauce, chicken simmered in peanut and chile seco sauce and a mocajete of meats are signature dishes.
Not worth the time

It was a great concept but the execution's terrible. The tables along the wall are screwed to the wall and arfe too close together. SInce they are immobile, I had to LITERALLY climb into my chair! The food was sub-par at best. I tried the house specialty, something that looked like hash. It was so full of gristle I had to keep spitting it out. NEVER again. The hostess was sweet - but couldn't make up for the seating and the food!
- Pros: friendly staff
- Cons: Food and the seating along the wall.
