In Short
"Pub" is a misnomer, as the bar is small and seems an afterthought, and decor relies on restaurant cues, like spotlighting, plants and stylish white chairs. The word likely references the food--chops, steaks, savory tarts--dishes that arrive at dark wooden tables to groups of salivating locals. Standout starters include tender battered cheese curds and a rich leek-goat cheese tart. A Berkshire pork chop is enough to share, a dicey proposal with something this tasty. Banana chocolate chip bread pudding is a decadent finish.

Unique dining experience - brunch has unusual but very tasty selections - recommend Hungryman Futomaki, Pear ginger French toast & the Red Curry Shrimp. The best part is the food is good for you! Tried them a second time for after theater dining - small plates, wide variety & fun time. The skirt steak wrapped in butter lettuce & the bacon wrapped quail breast were exceptonal. Service is excellent and friendly. We shall return with friends. Shochu drinks are unique & interesting to order. Left feeling good!

The Details on Shochu

Fun Fact:

Shochu, which can be ordered straight or in cocktails, is low in calories (think fewer than 20 calories per ounce).

Know Before You Go:

The restaurant is named after the Japanese distilled beverage that has surpassed the sale of sake in the country since 2004. It's touted for benefits that include breaking down blood clots and minimizing hangovers.

What to Drink:

Cocktails like the Iwo Oyama, a blend of rice shochu with pear and green tea, complete the experience.

Parking:

This part of Clark is tough with a car. Mercifully, the pub shares a valet stand with Mia Francessca--well worth the $8.

The Extras:

Brunch, a virtual carbon copy of the original Deleece weekend menu, features classics with a nudge, like eggs Benedict with artichokes, and is served Sundays, 10:30am-2:30pm.

Know Before You Go:

The "Pub" must also be a nod to the expertly vetted beer and whiskey list, studded with imported Belgian ales and rare American bourbons.

Where To Sit:

The four tops are a little cramped. If available, opt for a seat along the upholstered banquet where you'll not only have a little more elbow room, but a more comfortable seat. If it's packed, ask to eat at the bar.
