Bad service

Tonight I tried the restaurant, and I have to say as the pizza was quite nice (thin crust and nice ingredients) the service was quite lousy. I had had some friend?s feedback about the service at Union, but tonight I could experience myself. I arrived around 8:30pm and there was a waiting list of 8 people but there was 10 empty tables but the hostess did not have the ability to sit people on time, so decide to sit at the bar, but just to order the drink took 10 minutes, and to get the menu another 10?
As I was leaving decide to express my disappointment with the service with the ?partner-manager? and her feedback to me was that ?as I could see the restaurant was full?? . It seems like quality of the service is not one of their priorities.
I would stay away form the place? for the price there are other nicer pizza places in Evanston.

Know Before You Go:
No matter how well you plead, staff will not grant your wish to take out, citing kitchen constraints and something about not being that sort of place.
The Extras:
Although small plates and pizza rule the menu here, one daily large plate, like a wood-fired whole fish with Tuscan vegetables, will satisfy those not feeling the sharing thing.
