Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar

A wonderful addition to Chicago. I recently had the pleasure of dining at the new Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar in Chicago. I just wanted to comment on the fabulous time that we had while we were there. Having dined at many steak establishments in many areas throughout the country, I must say that this steakhouse ranks up there with the best.

The ambiance throughout the entire restaurant is very open, inviting and contemporary, from the open kitchen and high ceilings to the choice of music. I can't tell you how nice it is to be in a restaurant that does not play 'elevator music'.

Everything was superb from the drinks to the main course. I am usually not a wine drinker, but thought that with 100 wine options to choose from I could probably find something that I enjoyed. Our server was very understanding of this and helped me choose one that I could hopefully enjoy. Yes, I did enjoy it very much. For my main course I had the filet, and let me tell you it was amazing. I am not a big fan of spicy steaks, and was glad to find that the salt and pepper they season with was just enough to accentuate the flavor of the steak without being overwhelming. My partner had the chefs fish selection which was Grouper and was very happy with that choice as well. We had to try the Fleming's potatoes just because with that name they must be a signature item. I was a little worried about the jalepeno's being too spicy, but the server was again very helpful with my concerns and assured me that they were not over-powering at all. Boy was he right. It was great. For dessert we got the sampler so that we could try everything. That is a great idea by-the-way, because I can't tell you how many times I look at a dessert menu and want one of each but know there is no way I can eat them all. There was just enough to fullfill my sweet tooth.

All-in-all the entire night was very enjoyable. The staff was very friendly and happy to assist us without being pushy. I will definitely be back!!…
