The new sophisticated bar + lounge located on the mezzanine level of the Trump Hotel features a vibrant atmosphere to linger over views of the Chicago River & Michigan Ave. By day, the sun fills the space through the floor-to-ceiling windows, and by nightfall, the cityscape comes alive with glittering panoramic scenes illuminating around the lounge. In Short – The bar is mezzanine level, which is good news as walking through the lobby--all wood, marble and metal. Fawning hosts greet swanksters at the top of the stairs, offering choices: stools at the smallish bar, comfy chairs at intimate two-tops and loungier cocktail tables. Decor is too safe; tiny, framed pictures cover columns, a wall spotlights glass objects and carpet and lights come in muted tones. The curved wall of windows is a stunner, though, boasting decadent views of the river and Loop--an ideal backdrop for considered, possibly over-thought cocktails. – –…

I enjoyed this place very much. Nice atmosphere and the food was good. I'll be back for special occasions.
Great Place

This place stands out from the rest. A great place to wine and dine. The sushi is to die for and the spiked punched that everyone raves about holds it's reputation!
- Pros: atmosphere
- Cons: there are none
Totally worth it!

Great place to start or end the night. Good service, the hostess seats you. Excellent bar snacks and a great variety of dinks. Not too expensive for being Trump, like I said I would recommend to start the night or end it here and just have a couple cocktails. Crowd was kinda older and touristy I imagine that it will get more local as the place catches on.
- Pros: the view, lots of different drink coices
- Cons: kinda pricey but worth it
The Details on Rebar
The Extras:
Obviously Trump has given stern orders to the staff here; you will be stumbled over, and it can be weird if all you want is a post-work drink. But bring and client, or a date, and it will make all the sense in the world.
On the Menu:
Sixteen's Frank Brunacci handles Rebar's menu too, offering sushi hand-rolls and sashimi platters. The fish is fresh and the rolls are done right, but you'll scratch your head wondering why sushi.
When to Go:
Try a clear afternoon. You'll have pickings of where to sit and the views will be outrageous. If you're looking for a bit of scene, there's no better time than early evening Friday.
Where to Sit:
You'd think right up at the windows would be the best seats in the house---and they are good. But consider the lounge chairs along the back wall; from there you can take in the exterior and interior views.
Know Before You Go:
The biggest table in the bar is for five---and it's tight. Come with a bigger group and those accommodating hostesses will guide you to a semi-private nook that can fit around a dozen.
