In Short
River North barely seems to support the scale of designer Chris Smith's vision. Great sheets of glass, unfinished wood, black steel and stone compose the elevation--a Disney-esque naturalism continued into gigantic interior spaces. Floor one supports a main dining room and cavernous bar, but it's not that simple; stairwells, passageways and balconies suggest intricate space, a complexity that's carried upstairs and eventually to the stunning rooftop. Waiters, who are also chefs, weave through the whole jumble deftly handling skewers of meat and preciously composed bites. A diverse, dressed crowd signals.

Where to SitIf it is at all pleasant outdoors, get yourself to the rooftop. There, you will discover sodded sitting areas, excellent Konstantin Grcic stools, a cut-through to the bar below and cabana-like private booths.
The ExtrasThe kitchen remains at full steam until 11pm---not terribly late for the nightlife area. But wait 12 hours and it opens again on Saturdays for an international brunch service

I had a business meeting at Zed tonight and the service and food was horrible. I would not recommend this place to anyone. There are so many other great place to go in Chicago with much better service. Drinks and food are way over priced for what you get. The management is out of touch with what is needed for good customer service. We had an issue with food /drinks after spending $1000.00 and they were unwilling to discuss or address our issues. If you want a good dinner in the city avoid ZED the food/management is out of touch!!

The service was wonderful, and the shuttle bus makes you believe your'e a celebrity! It very spacious anc cute! I attended with friends and we were greeted with smiles! I enjoyed one server in particular..His name is Scott..he was so attentive to our needs..He even took pictures with my friends..This is indeed a place you should go if you want to feel grown and sophisticated..Also, try their lemonade ( It has a juicy popsicle on the side..)
Pros: You are sure to have a good time.
