In Short – What could have been cutesy decor in a theme cafe is actually pretty sleek. Clean lines in black and white dominate, right down to comfortable seating and modern tables. Crepes--the durable kind, not the lacy delicate ones--are filled with all sorts of sweet and savory combinations, from classic PB&J to a mushroom, bacon and cheese situation that's satisfying for lunch or dinner. With a BYOB license in place, young locals come for dinner, but otherwise the focus is more on lunch and weekend brunch.
A great place to work

Such a cool and comfortable place to spend an evening getting some work done or just hanging out with friends. I love the crepes and intelligentsia coffee and fun decor!
- Pros: Free wifi
The Details on Couture Cafe
Know Before You Go:
Weekends will draw a busy brunch crowd and the wait stacks up, so think about a weekday visit.
Parking:
An absolute horror on Clark, especially on the weekends. There are (pricey) garages on Diversey, but that's what you get for bringing a car within spitting distance of Wrigley.
The Extras:
Not a bad place to go solo--magazines are stored on a rack underneath the glass top tables to help pass the time until food arrives.
What to Drink:
The (Intelligentsia) coffee blend is raved about, as is the plain old unsweetened iced tea.
Where to Sit:
Near the windows where you can watch the action out on Clark. The whole place is a little cramped, but at least up front you have fewer neighbors.
