Citysearch Editorial Review. When looking for a substantial but healthy bite, look no further than Freshii, a hidden gem inside the lower level of Water Tower Place. From hearty wraps and burritos to lighter soups and salads, everything here comes with an emphasis on fit fare—which can sometimes be challenging when dealing with fast food and Chicago dining. Belly up to the order stand and grab a clipboard; from there, choose from a giant list of ingredients—dressings, veggies, protein options and more. All dishes are made to order, and the cooks will whip up a customized concoction in just a few minutes. The pick-up joint also offers breakfast wraps, fresh fruit, sports drinks and probiotic frozen yogurt.
Customized fresh food.
Freshii has a great menu, totally customizable salads, wraps and rice bowls all made with fresh ingredients. My favorite is the Centurion salad, with salmon, goat cheese, avocado, bacon, edamame, and portobello.
They even offer a great catering service too, and are very easy to work with. I love their monthly customer-created specials too. It's a fun way to engage with customers. They also have a frequent buyer card, so if you stop by enough times during the month, you can score a free meal.
The Water Tower location is hard to find, underneath Foodlife, but much better than any of the food court options.
Great Selection & Ingredients!. I couldn't wait to visit Freshii when I first read about it and it did not let me down at all! I love creating my own salads with a mix of ingredients, so this place was heaven for me. They had a wide variety of options to choose from and it was all very Freshii (sorry, I couldn't resist :) )! The staff was very friendly and fast, which is a big plus when you're on your lunch hour. I also have to disagree with that negative review. My experience was nothing short of fantastic and I'll be sure to come back for the Yoggii!
MMMMMMM...FRESHII. When I was hungry, I used to grab the closest thing in sight...a stale bag of chips or a rogue candy bar. But now I can forego the candy ? and the guilt and head to Freshii. Like creating the perfect outfit, the menu at Freshii consists of head to toe choices and deems them either ?24/7? (super healthy), ?balanced? (good fats and proteins) or ?splurge? (so tasty it?s only allowed in moderation). Each choice, ranging from breakfast to dinner fare, lists exact calories and nutritional information to help move customers through the meal designing process. Gawd bless you Freshii!
A breath of FRESHII air!. Re: above review: I think it is so unfair for someone to go to a restaurant on OPENING DAY and then write a bad review. I have been there 3 times since it opened last week and have great experiences every time. The menu is full of healthy options (a welcomed change) and the staff has been very accommodating. My Yoggi with bananas, honey and granola was the perfect accessory for yesterday?s sunny day. I would hope that people (especially those with discerning taste who read Daily Candy) would welcome an innovative concept and give them the benefit of the doubt on OPENING DAY.
Giving Healthy Food a Bad Name.
10/14: Based on the harsh reaction to my 1st review, I chalked it up to OPENING DAY & decided to go back. I was skeptical given what happened the 1st time, but my friend wanted to try it, so I went again with an OPEN mind.
The line was quicker, but the food was still horrible. My friend got a rice bowl & I got a salad. Neither of us are picky, but we couldn't even stomach what we got. She, too, was unpleasantly surprised with the cold veggies mixed into her warm rice. My salad was so tart that I couldn't eat it without puckering my mouth. The sundried tomato dressing was harsh & the sundried tomatoes in my salad were unbearably tart & leathery, which my friend confirmed.
Both of us were incredibly disappointed - each of our dishes + drink was ~$10 & it was inedible. The long line I experienced the 1st time around was attributable to OPENING DAY, but the horrible food clearly wasn't a matter of OPENING DAY since they've been open for months now. Save your $ & go elsewhere!

6/16: I love healthy food & was really excited to eat at Freshii after hearing about it on Daily Candy, but Freshii confirmed the misconception that healthy food tastes bad. I spent 30-40 mins waiting in line. Maybe it was b/c they just opened or b/c they were featured in Daily Candy, but a fast food place should NEVER take that long. I ordered a rice bowl with roasted potatoes that were COLD (not room temp., but COLD) & they seemed drenched in water. Whenever I took a bite, cold water surged out of each piece as if they were frozen (not "freshii") & not entirely defrosted. The sundried tomatoes were also rough & chewy, as if they hadn't soaked in water long enough to soften after being sundried. The teriyaki sauce was incredibly salty & the "grilled" tofu was more like raw tofu cut into cold, little squares. Nothing about my meal was salvagable, and at $10+ for the meal (+ drink) & close to an hour of my time, I should've been able to get a few good bites in.
Editorial Review. Loop eatery plays to the health-conscious with its selection of wraps, salads, soups and yogurt.
