Stress is invisible, step away from the job for a meal and some quite time and enter into Eastgate Cafe. People who dine with friends or dates need to discover this place. Food is just excellent, prices are right and service can't be better and more welcoming. What a wonderful experience not to be rush even though the hour was late. Smock Salmon salad that I had was fresh and perfectly portioned and went well with a chilled Pinot Grigio.

When I miss Europe, I go to Eastgate Cafe. This cozy little charming place opened up right across the street from where I live. Their good coffee I'd get once in a while allured me to go in and try their food as well. Although I went there by myself I never felt alone. The owners are so sweet, so welcoming and nice. I thought that was the best quality, along with the intimate European type atmosphere, until I tried their lobster bisque, tuna sandwiches and salads. Healthy and delicious come close to describe it fairly. I love tuna and Whole Foods is the place I shop for that. I always thought it was the best up until I tried what Eastgate had to offer. I was surprised to see they also offer beer and wine on the menu. It is definitely a place I recommend trying. They also have very nice live folk music on Saturdays and Sundays it's the open mike night. Aside from that, if you go alone, there are magazines all around to read, or you can bring a book or your laptop as they have free WiFi. In Oak Park, it is one of my favorite places to go and unwind.
Unique Boutique & Cafe. Seriesely unique. Eastgate is a small Boutique/Cafe nestled in Oak Park with both European and American influence, and open 7 days from early morning to late evening - with dining indoor or outdoor. But, BOUTIQUE is something else - carefully choosen all home accessories around the world, all food hostess gifts absolutely uniq (oliv oil, metal plates, jam, books...). The store owner is one of the nices women I've ever met and without a dought she seems to be somebody who will do what it takes to make her customer happy. And if you are wondering just where to get the best "Spinach with Feta Cheese Soup and a half Vegetarien Sandwich" for only $6.99 check the website for Eastgate cafe. Cool, cool, cool place! Grate boutique, charming cafe with exotic desserts, classic gourmet meals, good wine.Place is for sure SECRET HIDEAWAYS.
CHARMING, ROMANTIC ,ONE OF A KIND. Absolutely greate place - worm, inviting, romantic. Supper tasty food (pulled pork sandwich), art of dessert (raspberry pyramid) and good glass of wine makes a good evening. From service to atmosphere, from look to comfort, I can't put a finger what is better. All my Holiday shopping I did at Eastgate and I received nothing than a compliments (...where did you found this it is so unique...). My secretary got a Chocolate Champagne with candies in - she was speechless.
Cool place!. Supper nice atmosphere, plesant outdood seating, good food, clean place, exqusite gift area, small but very nice wine selection. Everything makes You want to come back!

Very good sandwiches, delicious lobster bisque soup, good Italian coffee - LAVAZA and ART of a French deserts. I couldn't resist to not have European Ice coffee (coffee-ice cream-whipped cream-topping). All prices very good. Place perfectly fits in Arts District. Almost destination. Some gifts and books I never seen before - so uniq and different and very afortable ($5.00-$220.00). This small place is open 7 days a week with long hours - what is good.
Eat, Shop, and Enjoy. This is a great place to visit, eat, and shop! The service is excellent and welcoming!!! I highly recommend the green beans with pork! The desserts taste as good as they look!
Great new addition to Oak Park. My husband and I just moved to Oak Park and had breakfast at Eastgate Cafe. Their breakfast pastries are delicious, and the fruit salad is one of the freshest, most flavorful I have had! Love this cozy little cafe and so glad we are within walking distance of it. The owners are very sweet and make you feel right at home while you are there. We'll be back!
Thank you and please come back!
